sweet spot weight loss

Recommended Posts

when you reached your sweet spot how much weight were you losing each week? I've been steadily losing 2 lbs a week but now I have 6 cc's in and since my last fill on April 25th I've lost 5 lbs.

Thanks!

It has varied with me from month to month. I haven't had a fill for about 6 months now. Have 3.8cc in my 4cc band. Have been at perfect restriction for quite a while. I have lost slowly, but steadily thru the past year. My largest monthly loss was 15 lbs, my lowest was 5lbs ( I only weigh monthly). I can eat about a cup and a half which works for me.

As in everything, it varies from person to person. Only you and your doctor can decide what your perfect restriction will be. That will depend on how much you can eat, how much you are losing and how you do with the amount of restriction you have (ie....any reflux? heartburn? coughing? difficulty swallowing, etc.....)

Discuss everything with your medical team. They are the experts and they rely on you to provide accurate information in order to help you succeed!!!

I think alot of it depends on how much you have to lose. I am thrilled if i lose a pound a week at this stage of the game.

I know weight loss is going to vary from person to person I was just curious to see how much weight loss people experienced when they were at their sweet spot.

I was at my sweet spot for many months and lost most of my weight during this time. However, I only averaged about 1.5 pounds a week.

I knew it was my sweet spot because the loss was steady and I wasn't hungry between meals and could only eat a limited amount of food before I was full.

Really for me, I think the sweet spot is the point at which weight loss is no longer much of a struggle and it just happens if you are following the rules and exercising without feeling deprived. I would always lose a fast 5-10 pounds after a fill, but the sweet spot was long term with the 1.5 weekly loss on average.

I've been averaging 2 lbs a week since I got banded this is the 1st time i've lost more than 2 lbs in a week and I've lost 5 lbs within 8 days. I was like dang. If this is my sweet spot I can handle that! I'm going to disney at the end of August and I want to be 240 lbs by then and i'm 27 lbs away from my goal. I wasn't sure if I would make my goal but if my weight loss is going to speed up then I will definitely make my goal and then some!

Heather, you stated it exactly how it is for me. I'm 8 months out from surgery and very happy living with this sweet spot. Hopefully, it will take me down another 50 pounds.

I have had a similar experience with fills. I will lose a quick 5-10 lbs. in the first 2 weeks or so after a fill and then slow down to about 1-2 lbs. a week. I usually get another fill if I find I'm following all the rules, journaling, exercising, etc and still not losing or if I'm noticing I'm a lot hungrier than usual!

I think I may have found the sweet spot but I still feel guilty eating what I think is a decent size meal at night because that is when I am loose enough - can't at Breakfast or at lunch - maybe I am going to lose 1 lb a week but that is slow I guess it seems like you aren't losing at all. Does that make sense? I think I have a 9 or 10 cc Realize Band and I think I am at 6 cc's. Thanks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
