I know this sounds stupid....but

Recommended Posts

I know this sounds stupid....but I want to experience the ever so popular PB! It seems that everyone on this board has had one, but not me. Oh, I'm not in search of a major PB, the tear drenching variety and most certainly not the newly learned BLOODY PB! A mild subtle PB will suffice. Just enough to remind me that I am really banded PB. In all honesty, I am mainly curious...and just a little scared as to what a PB feels like. I've been on solids now for a week and nothing that even resembles a PB. I have my first feel on 9/14, so maybe then I'll I have my PB encounter. I have had a PBJ (minus the bread). icon6.gif

I was banded 2 days after you and I haven't had a PB either. But I don't want to have one either. :-)

Landry's Dad, do you have a fill yet? I didn't have any sort of PB until I got a fill. I had a couple "oh that didn't go down quite right" but I was so open and able to eat everything before my fill. After the fill I got too over confident and WHOA BABY. Had two really bad PB's in two days (the kind that ended in barfing. NOT good.)

You know what, be glad you haven't had one. But I will agree that I learned a HELL of a lot from PB'ing. Now I stop *right away* when I get that little pinch feeling so that I don't get to the "I'll never eat again" feeling.

It's bad. Real bad.

Hey Jack,

Wow! A PB expert! Man, they do not sound fun at all. If I have led you to believe that I REALLY want one...not true. I'm mainly anxiously awaiting it! I know it will be here, ready or not. Thanks Jack for the info.

I would rather give birth than have another PB. I didn't have one till after my fill. Broccoli was my first PB. PAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN beyond belief. It was horrid. I have not had a full blown PB since. I have had the slimes a couple of times, which isn't so great but not the same as a full PB.

In a PB, remember to walk and breathe, walk and breathe, walk and breathe.....(my first one I forgot the breathe part, long story but a dear friend walked me through it on the telephone, thanks Lisa)

I haven't had a PB but what I have experienced is a major case of the slimes and a horrid pain in my chest for about 20 mins then it was gone. I guess it went down instead of up? It was fried fish with 90% of the breading taken off, I believe too big of a bite. Lesson learned ~Mandy

I haven't have a pb either...I had a first fill last week. I am still able to eat low fat triscuits with seafood dip or cheese. I did feel an uncomfortable heavy, like I had been punched in the chest feeling after having perhaps too much chicken. Does a preemie PB feel like that????

I am the bleeder. NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE GOD NEVER AGAIN. I bursted blood vessels in my throat when I began pb'ing/throwing up. As I understand this can be normal when throwing up. Never happened to me before the band.

I KNEW EVER want to PB again. It is AWFUL!!!

I am happy to report that I am doing very well. I feel as though I just got a fill--tender but fine on liquids. I was feeling a little depressed. It was scary and that mixed with the what have I done to myself and the back-on-liquids-right-when-I-was-getting-my-groove-on really put me in a funk. But I am hoping to get back in my groove today.

Ray, you're a nut! LOL

I didn't have any PB's until I reached a certain restriction (about 3 fills into this game), but that one was enough to put me off my all-time favorite food for good - gnocchi al gorgonzola. mmm heh

It will come in time and when it does, we'll all be here to talk you through it :D Until then, enjoy the freedom of little to no restriction :(

I was almost two months with my band before my first and only (knock wood) PB. I was eating a hamburger (without the bun) too fast and not chewing well enough. I now know that I have to chew and slow down.

Ray, you need a hobby LOLOL !!!

I hope when I'm banded I NEVER experience one of those but I know I will. I drink Water so fast and I eat like greased lightening so I'm bound for PB land.

Ray,

You arn't nuts when you say it sounds stupid. I have only had two Pbs but let me tell you mister, I remember both vividly. Not a happy warm feeling at all! Mine were just awful... Never felt so sick as I felt then. Worst part about it was here it is daytime and I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die - well until I yakked up, then I felt better, but before that the pain was incredible and the nausea was something I have never had before, nor hope to ever have again. I tell you now when I get that "Uh-oh feeling" it truly puts the fear in me and I sigh a huge sigh of relief if it all passes without incident. I have to second it..... be careful what you wish for!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
