burned out on lapband

Recommended Posts

I had to take a break from this Website. I was getting burned out on it all.

The lapband was all I ever thought about.

I'm feeling like I'm getting my life back now. With a few adjustments of course.

I'm ready for my first fill. May 7. I have been working with a trainer for week. I'm also doing some cardio everyday. It has kept me from gaining.

So I'm sure some of us have had a fill or two, how is it going?

I'm with you...I'm still on the site, but sometimes I feel like all I talk about, think about, obsess about is the damn band. Before it was food, now it is food and a lap band. I just want to get to the point where I feel like a normal person who eats less. I know it is "a tool" but I still feel like we have to live our lives, not live our bands. BTW - I was banded 3/31.

I'm in the same boat with you ladies. LBT was the first thing I'd read in the morning and the last thing in the evening. I was taking a break, then I had an appendicitis attack and emergency appendectomy. That was sufficient enough to distract me entirely. I'm having no problems with my band, and life is beginning to feel normal again.

so funny...today is the first day since about a month that I have even felt like reading anything regarding lapband. I agree with all. I am also at the point of feeling like I am finally living a normal life and just adapting to have a band.

Agreed! I was banded on March 23 and was on this site a LOT the first week. Then I got burnt out and today is actually the first time I've sat down and read any posts in the past three weeks.

It took me almost two weeks to feel okay (lots of anesthesia side effects for me), and now I am finally back to feeling 100%!

I have my first fill next thursday the 7th. I can eat more than a cup at a time but not much more. I have been sticking to Protein Protein protein as directed. Have had a few small things not on the list here and there but I definitely can NOT eat even half of what I used to. Will be glad for a fill though.

I can't say I see myself being on here much in the next few months either. I obsess about how much weight I am loosing and such if I read too much on here. I just want to do my thing and take my time and see where that gets me. It puts me on edge when I read here a lot. I guess that sounds bad. I don't know. I feel more in control if I don't obsess about food and the lapband. And I think about both a little too much when I read here on a daily basis. I definitely love the info and support here but I definitely feel you on the break thing.

Hope you guys are all doing well!

HAHA! Too funny, I feel the same way. Plus I am frustrated because my doctor is sick and my first fill was suppose to be Friday, then Tuesday and they cancelled BOTH appointments and now I'm scheduled Friday. I need a fillllllll....

I didn't think about this place for a while myself. We had 2 deaths in our family and just a whole bunch of other stuff. I was not filled when I went in last week due to my weightloss being steady and the fact I am a bit stressed out.

I am happy to come back here and regroup. I have found myself substituting food with all kind of other things... mostly clothes because I don't have so much that fits me now. I also love makeup and obsessing over things I would never have obsessed over before. recently I ran into old friends that say they didn't even recognize me. I am not sure how to take it but I guess it is all good.

I am worried that I can eat too much but I am still losing about 2 lbs a week and I am ok with that.

 Take care!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
