Day 18 Post Op Ate Chicken by Mistake No Probelm No Restriction (?)

Recommended Posts

I was banded April 1st. I went on mushy foods April 15th. I forgot about that April 17th and had a pice of chicken. 3/4 way through I remembered and realized I ate without restriction. Nothing felt like it was getting stuck. I admit I was full after just one piece but it made me think: I am able to eat that because I have no restriction?

I'm scheduled for my first fill May 1st.

It's not restriction right now that will stop you; it is that you are healing and eating ahead of your post op diet can cause damage to your stomach where the band is healing into place. You may rip it totally loose or just set yourself up for trouble down the road. (six months or a year from now you'll have a slip and wonder "why me?" )

It's possible you're sufficiently healed to advance, maybe not though. You should probably call your surgeon Monday, tell him what you did and when, and see if you can advance, or if you need to keep with his program, and if he needs to test you for band movement.

Until you are filled you won't have restriction.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
