Most important right now...take a deep breath and try to relax. I know its scarey but I've found, the more upset I get, the worse the tightening is. You have to consciously relax and I know you won't feel quite as panicky. It's like the knots in your stomach are increasing with time. Call and leave a message for your doc again (they do sometimes get busy and forget.) Sucking an ice cube is a great idea. This isn't life threatening as you are taking care of the problem ....I know its hard, but rellax and be patient, help is coming when your doc calls back - if not....E.R.? Please let us know ASAP when you are feeling better.

I am sorry to hear that you are having thise problem. Mine is another problem. I had a fill on tuesday, and today pretty much everything goes down, and I don't have to take small bites or chew chew chew either.

When will that start??

Also debbie, you just had your surgery 3 months ago and have done so well... and you only got your first fill a few weeks ago.. Any advice?

i recently went through this as well. If your unable to keep anything down first call doc which youve done. how long as it been since youve called? if they dont get back to you, When i called my doc they indicated it is a medical emergency has it can cause damage to the band and us not being able to eat or drink. I had to go to er to get an emergency unfill. These are your options. if your able to keep stuff down id wait til doc calls u. If you cannot get anything down and are throwing it back up, then id go to ER. good luck!!

I agree, if you worry, or get worked up, it seems to get tighter. I have done the same thing, you are so thirsty, you just start gulping and then are miserable. When this happend to me, my Dr. was out of town, so I just made sure to stick to liquids, and drink slowly, after a few days it did losen up in the afternoon, it was still tight in the morning, but I was okay with that. I would definately talk to your DR. and see what his advice is.

Good Luck!

I sure hope your doc has called by now!

Are you able to keep the liquids down if you can get them thru?

Have you tried really hot tea? Please don't burn yourself but if I'm tight in the AM, hot tea helps loosen things up. Otherwise I get stuck on cold milk!

You definitely need an unfill but until then, maybe the hot tea will help loosen you up just enough to get something thru.

I got stuck on my BP pill last Sunday. Couldn't even keep my own spit down. I went in for an emergency unfill Monday evening. I'm now finishing up a week of liquids, then soft foods before slowly moving back to regular food. I'll see my doc on the 30th and hopefully get some fill back. Right now tho, I'm totally empty!

Take care and hang in there. As the others have said, don't panic. It will be fine as soon as you can get unfilled.

Try to relax and not panic. I know that is easier said than done, but it should help. I have found that sipping some hot tea/water helps when things get too tight. I would put another call into the Dr.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
