Riding While Fat

Recommended Posts

Should I ride my motorcycle now that I'm 270lbs?

Okay here is my story, a few years ago I purchased a sports bike (which I love to ride):lol:. I was about 200 to 215lbs when I got it and I rode any chance I got. It was like my therapy and it worked every time. Well about two years after I got it my then boyfriend, now husband took it for a ride without my permission and crashed into a wall head on :crying:. He was fine but my bike was not:mad3: . It was going to take $2,500 to fix so we kept putting it off for other things. This past weekend my husband decided to surprise me and take it to the shop. It will be ready next week, but now I'm having second thoughts about riding because I have gone up to 270lbs and my riding gear doesn't fit. It's not just that I have to buy a new jacket it's that I don't want to look like a circus attraction! :laugh: I can just picture me on my bike and people looking at me all weird, trying to figure out why there is only a tire sticking out of my fat @$$!! :) I mean I really, really, really want to ride and I don't think I can wait until I lose weight after the Lap-band surgery. Any suggestions?

:drool::hi:

I thought you were talking about horseback riding :cool2: I would say JUST DO IT! I think once your on, you won't even care! Can you just feel the breeze in your hair and bugs in your teeth right now??!! I figure with a helmet on no one will know you anyway. And you can fly past them anyway!! NOW GO RIDE GIRL!!!

Yep, my mind went straight to the gutter with that title! LOL! :cool2:

Now to your question. RIDE YOUR FREAKING BIKE!!!!! Who CARES if they think ANYTHING about it? :lol: You want to ride, then ride! I have ALWAYS admired women who ride their OWN motorcycles. I have never once paid attention to their size, I'm just thrilled to see 'em out there!

And a side note:

I would have KILLED the boyfriend for taking the bike and WRECKING IT!!! :thumbup:

I'm shocked he became your DH and without even having to fix the bike first!! Must be love! :party: LOL!

I would ride it. To ride heavy isnt the end of the world. Too many of us put our lives on hold waiting to be thin enough to enjoy life . . . but why. If you love to ride, just do it.

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
