Ever been told "No fill for you!"

Recommended Posts

My doctor wouldn't give me a fill. I'm able to eat more than the amount I've heard and don't have a lot of PB (unless I do something stupid like eat too fast) and am hungry every 3 hours. But he said I was ahead of my target weight loss so he didn't want to add any more restriction. He said I should drink more Water. I do feel restriction but have always heard I should be full after eating about 4 ounces and it should keep me full for 4 to 6 hours. My weight loss has really slowed down and it is frustrating. I am only losing a pound or two a week. Am I too impatient? It took me years to get this big, I know I shouldn't expect it to come off in less than a year.

Last month I got the "no fill" routine but im like you I dont know if I need a fill or not I was supposed to have a fill tomorrow and I put it off for 2 more weeks to see what happens ive been at the same weight for about 1 1/2 weeks.I think personally I might need just a smidge to get the ball rolling again

If you are continuing to lose 1-2 lbs a week it sounds like you are doing fine. Why would you want to mess with that if you are on a losing streak? I could see if you were stalled, but if you are losing, that's a good thing. Average weight loss per week in every thing I've read IS 1-2 lbs a week, so you are right on target! Hang in there.. if you are still finding it difficult though, talk to your doctor again.

You can't say you are only losing 1-2 pounds a week on here silly! BC everyone will tell you that is what we are supposed to be losing! It does feel slow though, especially after the pre and post op diet speed loss. Patience is hard for me too...and I like immediate gratification.

I have read several people on here that says their docs wont fill them ahead of schedule. I was filled on march 7th and wasnt supposed to go back in until may 7th for my second fill. I have called twice and been back twice bc I didnt feel my fill was working.

My doc said it sounded like I wasnt at restriction yet (after asking me all sorts of questions) and gave my my third fill. Its amazing the difference. My first fill was 4css, my second was 1.5 ccs, and this last one was 1 cc.

I was told when it was time for my second fill, that he would not fill me. I was making all the right food choices and losing weight so there was no need for a fill. I was upset because I was counting on the fill. I went back two weeks later and told him I was starving and starting to slip back to some old foods, and I told him to either unfill me or to fill me.... he filled me. When you have just the right fill, this lapband works like magic. When you are overfillled, it can be hell. If you continue to lose weight without starving, you are doing the right thing. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
