hi there, congrats on the weight loss! I have lost almost 20 lbs in two months, it is getting slower, but it is coming off. got banded on the 21st of Jan. then first fill 4 weeks later, 4.6 cc in my 10 cc band, then on the 16th had another fill + 1.7cc.....too tight, had to go back on the 23rd remove 1cc, much better. I am trying to listen to my body, no real hunger, some head games going on. portions are good, learning to chew chew and slow down.

Again, congrats on your great start and keep up the good work.

Patti:rolleyes2:

I had my first fill in March, and I was doing well until about the third week after - I was ALWAYS hungry. I knew I had another fill coming up so I tried to take it easy and make good food decisions. I ended up losing 10lbs last month, but I have a feeling it ALL was in the first two weeks after my fill.

I just got my second fill on Monday and I am feeling better. I am not as hungry as I had been so now I am just working on getting into a solid exercise routine and slowing down when I eat.

I was banded Feb 16th. I lost 16 lbs between surgery and my first fill. Sheer will power. After my first fill I did really well. I didn't have restriction, so I was still on sheer will power. I paid attention to portions, Protein, fat grams, etc. I've lost a total of 35 lbs as of Wednesday, when I had my second fill.

I have so much restriction now, that for the last two days, even drinking Water has been tough. I SLIMED water for crying out loud!!! :tt2:

This a.m. I made a fruit smoothie w/ Protein Powder, and am having less of an issue getting it down. Of course I am only 1/16th of the way through it!!

Head hunger is a major issue w/ me. It doesn't help that every other commercial is a big gooey pizza, cheeseburger or ice cream sundae!! Dang! And when I sit down to eat my 1/4 cup portion of whatever, my head tells me NO WAY is that going to satisfy me. Of course, with the new fill, I can't even eat half of it, but my head still plays its little game, and says I am still hungry. I think that is going to be the hardest part of this whole process. :tt2:

Hugs,

ARG!! I HATE my doctor's assistant!!!!

Ok, went for my first fill, I had had some issues with my incisions wanting to gap, and I Really scar bad, so he had trouble finding it, and said he would get his assistant to schedule me for a fill under fleuro. Irritating, but not totally unexpected, my luck has always been crap so I'm kinda used to it. His assistant didn't call, so the day before he said he would get it scheduled for, I called his assistant again. ki had called about 3 times already, but I had her paged to the phone, so I could actually talk to her. She claimed she didn't get my chart, that the Dr still had it, she'd call me back in teh next couple days. Long story short, 3 weeks after he couldn't hit my port, she still hasn't set up the damn appointment! She never returns calls adn when by some mirtacle she answers the phone, it's one excuse or another. I talked to her Friday, she said she would call me back with the appointment in 30 minutes, 3 days later, still no call!!!!!

I'm calling and talking to the office manager Monday! I'd hate to switch to another dr, but his assistant is worse than incompetent, and I didn't pay this much for surgery to have it in empty and not helping. i know the band is only a tool, but when the fire extinguisher is empty, it's not much of a tool, it's just one more way to get burned.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
