American over in Germany wanting to get approved for banding

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm very interested in being approved by Atena Global. Has any been approved and what did you have to provide?Being in Germany some things are difficult because as a civilian worker you have to be seen off base, I have a German doctor, just not sure what they require and how hard or easy it is to be approved. Any info would be great, I live by Ramstein, Germany

Thanks Tina

Welcome to LapBandTalk!

I think you might get an answer to your question if you ask it in the Germany forum. Well, technically there isn't one just for Germany, but this one should have people from Germany in it:

Dear Tina,

I just saw your post. I am an American living in the Stuttgart area. Hubby is civi contractor on base. We have Cigna ins.

I was banded her July 2007. My op was 5 days after I met the surgeon... no pre-op anything. I pre-paid and got my money back from the ins. co.

Each doc is different here, just as they are in the states... you have to talk to them to see what they require.

Keep in touch!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
