  1. Hello I just started the program, I'm in week two and I enjoy it, I feel it pushes you but not to a limit you can"t handle. I even got my husband doing it and he normally prefers the bike. I notice we push eachother because I tend to watch the person next to me on the treadmil and try to keep up, funny how we do that, I think you will enjoy it and I'll be excited to see week 8 and 9 what I can do..... Good Luck!!
  2. Elphiepoo, I couldn't have said it better, while I'm also sometimes discouraged but only because I want to get to the point that some more restriction is there and until than we have to be patience and continue to do the best we can. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!
  3. Juliansmom, You are doing great, but I know what you mean about wanting to get closer to your goal. I was banded on 29 Oct and than 10 days later on 9 Nov 2009 due to slippage. I had my first fill on 19 Jan of 2cc's and am not losing at a pace I want, I will be calling Dr. for another fill. I find that one cup doesn't hold me more than just a couple hours either can't wait til I'm in this sweet spot everyone talks about. I have to get motivated to exercise more, the weather here in Germany is so bad by the moment but thats no excuse I do have a treadmil in our sport room so maybe I'll get in two miles like you and see results similar to those who put in that extra that is sooooo needed. Call your Dr. let him know thats to long of a wait.
  4. I'm also having a slow weight loss, just had my first fill of 2cc's in a 6cc band. My Doctor didn't do the first fill until I reached 3 months, due to two surgeries back to back due to slippage. So I've only seen about 18lbs since the band. I'm eating about 60%-70% of my normal, I need to drink more, I do so so but could improve. I feel no restriction and can eat bread, rice, and other items most can't eat. I'm calling my doctor on Monday to get another fill in hopes that will help. Glad everyone is posting I really enjoy reading here and hope we all make a better effort in posting to motivated one another. I live in Germany and talk about snow, I'm a Pheonix girl and like to drive to the snow for vacations, not have it everyday, so can't wait till it clears up.
  5. My doctor is DR. Schultz from St. Johannis 06371-84-2301 he is the cheif of surgery and a wonderful doc and speaks very good English, the hospital and nurses are great.
  6. Jenn, Hello I'm working on Landstuhl Post and am a CIV I just got the lap band done about 6 weeks ago. If you want you can call me this afternoon after 16:00 at 06373-892585 I can give you all the details. I think you have to go thru Tri-care, but their is a local Doctor that does a awesome job right here at the St. Johanas hospital in Landstuhl. If you call I can give you his number, so you dont have to go to frankfurt or some where not local. Talk to you soon.
  7. Thanks Danyett I will see my doctor mid week so I will see but he normally waits on the first one at 3 months maybe I can get on at two months will see.
  8. Danyett, When did you have your first fill? I saw your going to have your second fill already, my Doctor says the first fill is in 3 months, I'm going crazy it will be 4 weeks in 3 days and I wish I was getting one atleast by the 6th week. I see him next week so I will plead to have it sooner. My portion are also 1 cup or more its a lot less but still quite a bit. Yeah, I hear you on the will power thing I dont have so much at times. Have a nice weekend.
  9. Oliverdog, My Doctor said the first three months he doesn't fill and than he puts 1cc in, don't know is that a normal amount? I have my 1 month checkup next week I think my German is good enough to convince him that I'm not waiting 3 months. I eat less but still a good amount so I would like it filled. How is your restriction can you share with me what portion size you eat and how much at one setting? Are you able to get a second fill before x-mas? how much was your first fill? I'm not so worried how much I lose or how fast I didnt gain those 75lbs overnight and won't lose them overnight either, I just want some restriction to fill up a bit faster. Well I hope everyone has some time to post every now and than or if they are posting else where to let us know.
  10. 2 Surgeries and 5 days in ICU 14 days in Hospital Hello everyone, well had my first surgery on the 29 Oct went home three days later, they keep you in the hospital in Germany a few days but that was okay. From beginning on I had bad heartburn and hicups the Doctor said normally heartburn is not a problem so I thought okay maybe it will get better. Went home on Sunday and made a soup pureed it and it tasted so good; however after I ate I had a hard time even drinking and by Monday morning I was vomitting all over went to the Hospital and had a check to see if everything was going down they told me yes, but my Doctor wanted to see the x-ray upon his return he told me I needed a second surgery, it had slipped I just creid, but bucked up and was scheduled for the next day. Well next thing I know I'm being awaken and told that I assperated while under and it went into my lungs, and I had to spend the next 5 days in ICU tuff days. This was hell but I came too dam far to not leave without the band. The Doctor explained he won't know if he can re do it until he goes in but if theres no irratations and the stomach looks good he will do it. So on the 9th of November they preformed the second surgery and when I woke the Doctor informed me I WAS A BANDIT !!!!!! was it tuff hell yes, but worth it hell yes. The pain was not to much and I went back to work last week. Doing fine lost about 17 lbs but the last week haven't lost more and I'm retaining water. But am glad to be on this side and my eating is less but I thought it would be even lesser. I'm eating about 65% of my normal portion size. Hope everyone else is doing fine and are there other section you all are posting?

  12. Glad some of you are home and feeling better. I will start my pre-diet tomorrow my Doctor doesnt use one but I decided I will due a ten day one before my surgery on the 29th Oct 2009. Can't beleive its so close and getting approved was painless it took a little bit but just turned in the requested paper work and approved 33 days later I finally feel that there is hope out there. I eat pretty much health just not the right portions and no exercise and some day I graze even when not hunger, but I hope the feeling satisfeid sooner and the walking I have been doing that I will lose and keep it off. I know once we are out of Bandsterhell and on normal food I will be happy to get that behind me. Good luck everyone and like I read so often weigh and count calories and pre plan your menu until you have it mastered.
