  1. I think the best you can do is show restaurants the card your surgeon should of given you, that states you had lap band surgery and can only eat a child sized portion. I've only been to one, maybe two, places that told me that can't offer that. If your surgeon didn't give you one of those cards, just ask if they have them at your next appointment =]
  2. The BEST I have tried (and also mixes great and tastes excellent with water) is Click. Its a mocha coffee flavor, is low in carbs and sugar, and has 15g of protein per serving (and 1.5g of fat and only 120 calories). If you love St. Arbucks, you will LOVE Click! I add a little bit of SF Raspberry syrup to it and it tastes soooo decadent!
  3. Hey all! I'm in Chino (Inland Empire, just north of the OC). Yesterday was my 1 year and 4 month bandiversary! Lovin' my band Love to see all the So Cali folks here!
  4. Steph, WELCOME! How awesome that you decided to do something really good for yourself. This will be awesome for you - you won't regret it! If I can help you with any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Message me, and I can give you my private email address. I had the surgery a little over a year ago. I started at 5'5" and 330lbs. Right now I'm down to 230. I'm so happy with my results so far and look sooooo much better than I did! Hope to hear from ya soon! Holley
  5. Hmmm, I will have to see about his assistant, Brian, being able to do the fill. My other doctor (internist) also had the lap band and is hoping to be trained in giving fills. I hope so! I just called my surgeon's office AGAIN this afternoon and they told me to call back Friday, or they will call me if they find out. Oh, I'm so mad! Yes, I'm in Southern California, about 20 minutes North of Orange County. Where is Dr. Aceves?
  6. I was banded on 3-25-09 and have had ONE fill (around the beginning of June). I've lost a little over 80lbs since the surgery and need to lose about 80 more lbs. I'm like back and forth with the same five pounds now (its been about 2 months since I figured I needed a fill). They keep saying they aren't sure of my surgeon's schedule, blah, blah blah. Its hard...
  7. I agree! I'm gonna call back tomorrow and tell them how rude the girl was. I'm gonna tell them I went through a LOT to have this srgery and I NEED to get a fill. It only takes 15 minutes or less....
  8. No worries, Johnnie! Let me know if I can answer any other questions =] Holley
  9. So I need a fill and called my surgeon's office for an appointment. They said they are booked until March! What do I do? I've maintained the past couple of weeks and need to lose some more. I guess I just sit tight, but this is sooo annoying! Anyone else have or had this issue? Holley
  10. Johnnie, how awesome for your wife!!! Okay, this was the part of the pre-op that was the most challenging. I went to a lady literally across the street from Rancho Speciality Hospital. I also have the same insurance. That lady's name is: Georgina Lamphere PhD. Here is her website with contact info:http://havenpsych.com/html/georgina_lamphere__ph_d_.html. She is sooooo suer nice! She just asks some stuff about your life to make sure you can mentally handle the surgery. She said "you seem great and I guess I won't be seeing you again unless you ever want to come back and talk about anything." Good luck to you!
  11. Hey madpassion!!!! WELCOME! That is too cool! You are so well on your way! You will look and feel sooooo much better. Dr. Krahn is an AWESOME surgeon who really cares. He may seem kinda "stiff" at first, but make him laugh and he loosens up =] ANY questions you have about this whole journey, please feel free to ask away! I work swing shift, so the hours I reply may be a little odd =P Can't wait to chat more! Holley
  12. They are the BEST. And like Jen said, I get excited to see Stevie and Terri, too!
  13. georgiagirl, I JUST tried the LC wedgedes to replace the mayo and WOWY ZOWY! This is fantastic! It tastes like full fat mayo and its so light! Thanks so much =] Gonna run to the store for the spinach dip in a bit. Can't wait to try that next!
  14. I know how you gals feel. I was banded 3-25-09 and for the first week I was like "WHY DID I DO THIS?!" Now, I couldn't be happier. You will get there, just hang in there! You did the hardest part already - having the courage to have the surgery! Congratulations on being newly banded
  15. My surgery is tomorrow morning at 9:30am PST. I'm so nervous =P
