Zoe, I hope that this makes you feel better! Maybe you could get on the cancellation list and have the surgery sooner?

I had my hysterectomy when I was 23. It was the best thing that a Doctor every did for me. From the time my daughter was borned to the day of surgery I had a period. I actually thought I was going to bleed to death.

Don't panic yet, I can't find it on my computer, or on my old computer files on CD. BUT! I called my sister and she has the original Polaroid at her house. She's bringing it with her to dinner Friday night. I'll scan it and post it then. So you are safe until at least 9pm Friday evening...

However, I think it wise to post it on it's own thread with the appropriate disclaimers, out of respect for Zoe and others with fibroids, and out of respect for DeLarla who we definately don't want passing out under any circumstances! It's really not that bad. No, it's gross. I promise I won't post it here. Don't bug out on Zoe!!!!

Thanks again, everyone, and a big thank you to Kathy for not publishing the Fred photo here! I still have a 1996 photo of my giant cyst, along with one of my surgeon, radiological oncologist & the lab workers all giving a big thumbs-up when they discovered it wasn't malignant after all. Don't worry -- I won't post them!

I sure hope I can get my surgery date bumped up, but I can't count on it. Meanwhile, the alien (which under ultrasound looks like an eclipsed sun) is pushing on my back and belly. My sciatica's back (no pun intended), but at least I haven't bled for a while. I just have to hang tough for another 5-1/2 weeks.

What really surprises me is how many women I know (in real life and online) who've undergone this surgery or who have been told they should do so. We are legion.

I had a hyst in 2001, for major mechanical problems unfixable by other means--I delivered a mondo huge baby (for me, he was 10 pounds 9 ounces) and that pretty much ruined me. I was so ready to be comfortable and leak free when I finally decided to have the surgery. Told my doc I was spending my kid's college money on pads just to stay dry! (sorry if that's too much information!).

So, I am saying that for whatever reason you have a hyst, my hope for you is that you will be as comfy and carefree as I am now! ( now, if I could just lose the rest of my weight then I will be all set!)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
