I thought that fitting into smaller clothes would be the most exciting part about losing weight right up until Lena posted her experience with the guy who flirted with her.

Way to go, Lena.

I know I already posted one, but I have another one that happened last night. I am packing for a trip to florida and pulled out my summer clothing -- it was all too big! In the past, it was usually all too small and it would put me in a tail spin, now, no problem, I'll just buy new! Woo hoo!

You're making me jealous. It's snowing this morning in Reno and I had to change into winter clothes again to keep from freezing.

Have a great time on your vacation. You've got band support so you'll come back in better shape that you left. Isn't that terrific? :)

This is an awesome thread! My NSV are starting as well.

I can no longer wear my wedding rings ( I still need to find ring guards).

I had to buy new (smaller) shoes. My feet are no longer a wide width. :)

I have went down a bra size and a full cup size as well.

I also had to buy smaller underwear.

My outer clothes are about to the point of falling off, I'll have to be buying new before too long.

I also no longer have the knee pain like I had before I lost this 40+ pounds.

Everyone is noticing the weightloss and commenting on how good I look.

I feel so much better and I feel better about myself.

Realizing you actually fit in the seat in the airplane.

Not having to ask for a seat belt extender on a plane.

Being able to cross your legs on an airplane.

Being able to place your carry on under the front of your seat and being able to retrieve it without passing out.

Being able to walk to the bathroom on a plane and not have to go sideways hitting everyone along the way.

My favorite is having to tighten your seat belt because the previous passenger was a larger size.

Like everyone else, my rings won't stay on my hands anymore. Yesterday, I almost lost my wedding band in the bathroom, and today while fixing the roast bird for dinner my ring almost ended up as part of the stuffing. LOL!

So, I went web surfing. Here's a place with different types of ring guards from the liquid to plastic to metal, depending on your tastes and needs.

My NSV's are loose wedding rings. I had to get new clothes and underwear and my bra's are too big again. I have so much energy I have to keep my walk going longer. I even bought size 12 pants and had to sew a dart in the waist of the. My husband said take them back and get a 10 but my butt still needs the 12 I had to explain to him. LOL

Wow! You guys are amazing. I have a NSV also. That is my wedding rings are to big also. Plus I am now wearing smaller clothes, I was wearing a size 24 and now I am at an 18 and they are getting big on me now. I am looking at going to an 16 soon. Keep it up January Hotties, we are doing great. Oh yea I almost forgot one thing. My Doctor told me that I am no longer need any more medicines for my sugar. That was the greatest news I had so far.

My son had to ask twice what size shirt I wanted. He could not believe I wanted a medium shirt 20 months ago I was wearing 3X.

I had to quit wearing a ring because it kept sliding all over the place.

I went from pants size 26/28 (barely fitting into them) to a size 24. Although 24's are getting too big on me. I tried on size 22 pants the other day and they fit but were very tight.

Went from size 26/28 in shirts down to an 18/20. I think i'm starting to grow out of my 18/20's.

My bra went from 46D to 42D. I'm starting to lose actual cup size now so I may end up as a large C when all is said and done.

As far as shoes go, my foot isn't as wide as it used to be. I have to get new crocs in a smaller size because the ones I have are too big. I tried on a pair of candies shoes at Kohls the other day and they fit. Usually my foot would've been too wide and they wouldn't of fit.

Me and my 4 year old nephew can snuggle up together on the couch with no problems (before I would've taken up the whole space).

Can't wait to get on an airplane next month to see how I fit in the airplane seat! Hope I don't need a seatbelt extender.

I can cross my legs and keep them crossed for a while. I even find myself doing that at work.

My 8 year old nephew can totally put his arms around me now.

My biggest will be the day I no longer wear plus size clothing and make it to onederland.

I look like a commercial! You know the ones where the person holds out their too-baggy clothes to show the "gap" between waistband and belly? That's me!

My formerly-favorite jeans slid off my hips and hit the floor in a puddle recently. My daughter laughed and said, "Guess we're breaking out the sewing machine, huh Mom?"

My wedding ring now resides around my neck on a silver chain after I almost lost it down the kitchen sink while doing dishes. I feel so naked!

But the biggest triumph happened this morning. I have a pair of leather jeans that were my "goal" jeans for the past ten years. Ten years! The friggin' things cost $200 in 1997, and I was going to wear them "someday."

Today was that day. They slid on, past my thighs. I gasped and pulled a little more. They came over my butt, as if it were greased. My face broke out in a sweat. I tugged the two front halves together, wondering if I could get it buttoned. YES! Then, the final test --the zipper. I grasped the zipper pull with shaking fingers and lifted. ZIP! All the way up! I stood looking in the mirror with my mouth agape. The leather jeans not only fit, they were comfortably loose! I didn't have to lay on the bed to zip them or breathe in shallow pants to avoid breaking the zipper. They fit. Really, really fit. My husband, watching from the chair, applauded.

I'm still stunned. I don't have anymore "goal" clothes left. I'm done. I may still be overweight and no where near a correct BMI, but I've surpassed every goal I set. I guess this means I need new goals. Or a new set of pants. Okay, a new set of pants. LOL!

I guess we are breaking out the sewing machine.

Lena, it was great to hear from you, I've been wondering how you were doing! I've been in the woods for 3 weeks so I'm just now catching up from the end of June.

Any hoo, I lost 8 lbs on vacation and when I got home I tore through my "old clothes" I wore a pair of size 14 shorts today at work!!! First of all, size 14 is really cool... but to wear shorts to work? That hasn't been done in 5 plus years! My fat cankles and fleshy knees, would always stop me from doing it. The best I would do was capri's.

Today was 100 degrees, and I did it!!! I am so proud of myself. My legs actually looked ok -not great- but not horrible either. I think I'll do it again tomorrow when it 's 103. I deliver mail, and in the jeep it gets to be about 115! I am so happy that I wore shorts today!

Just wanted to share,

I'm glad everyone is doing so good!:cursing:

Wow, Glenda!! Yes, girl! Wear those shorts and stop suffering. I've been wearing bermuda-length shorts for about a month, and I thought that was great. That is, until my frisky DH decided to see if the shorts were loose enough to be yanked down around my ankles without unbuttoning. Yes, they were! LOL!

Do I resemble a Shar-Pei puppy? You betcha!

I've lost about sixty pounds. It's coming off more slowly now, but I'm happy with that.

Went on vacation to the beach with my entire family( parents, siblings, nephews and nieces) I took my son and his cousins to a go cart track. It was the first time in 9 years that I felt comfortable to get into a go cart. You probably couldn't of paid me to even get in one a year ago. I didn't feel like sausage in a sausage casing, or feel like the cart could only go half the speed because of my weight. I even got into some carts that I would not even have been able to fit into a year ago. I don't know who had more fun. The kids or me.

I also enjoyed riding a bike for exercise during vacation. That is something I have never done. Exercise use to be a bad word around me. Especially during vacation.

Well I have a few recent NSV's to share with y'all. I went on vacation with my family and I fit on the airplane seat no problems (even with both arm rests down!!! I didn't have to ask for a seat belt extender. The seat belt fit just fine, I even had to tighten it up. I could even cross my legs!!! I also used the bathroom with no problem whatsoever!!! Most importantly I got home and downloaded my photos and didn't cringe at myself. I thought to myself wow you are looking good. you got a ways to go but you are getting there.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
