Hi All,

I was banded last May and have been on a plateau since around November. After some bad fills and attempts at fills, I had a fill under flouroscopy and the Dr. realized my port had flipped and I am waiting to get a date for my port replacement surgery. I have read some accounts that say it happens all the time and some that say it is very rare. Does anyone have any advice? What was the recovery time like? I have had more discomfort than usual in the last couple of weeks since the dr. was poking me under the floroscope and am really anxious to get this taken care of.

Thanks for your help!

Libby

Hi Libby. My port flipped three months after I originally got my band. It was not big deal, surgery and recovery were a breeze. I was in and out of the hospital in a couple of hours and returned to work the next day with minimal discomfort.

Well I had my port replacement one month ago today and my first fill last Thursday. For the first time I feel like the band is working! I have restriction and I have had my first PB (which was not so much fun, but now I understand what everyone has been talking about-and how this tool can be used.) I have to remember all the good habits that I had after my initial surgery a year ago.

Hope you all are well!

Susan and Libby - were you adjusted during port revision surgery? Curious because mine must have flipped-haven't been able to get the first adjustment - really want to move on in the weight loss area. Going back in a month - for the surgery.

You know, they said they were going to and a few weeks after the surgery I was feeling no restriction and very hungry. When I went in for my first fill I found out I was completely empty. But the first fill seems to be working.... so far so good.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
