Hello all-

I was banded on 2/19 and since my banding I have only lost 3lbs. Some of you newly banded people have lsot a lot more. My band is empty right now, my first fill is not until 4/16. I am getting very frustrated. My calories are around 1500 a day. I just started working out again. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated:crying:

Congratulations on your band, remember it will be a slow and gradual process and everyone loses different. Try not to be discouraged, we all have to find what works right for us. That being said, it seems as though your calories are a little high being that you said you just started exercising. What type of exercising are you doing? And what types of food are you eating now? I usually try to stay around 1000-1200 calories a day but I work out and do lots of cardio/jogging 5 days per week, as they say calories in/calories out. You will get there, don't judge yourself based on others, like I said find what works for you and find an exercise you like so you'll be able to stick with it. Good Luck!

Have patience! I was banded on 2/25/09, so I know what you mean! This time before the first, second and third fill (before good restriction) is so hard! But hang in there and be patient! It will pay off. Keep up everything you are doing...you are doing it all right. Give your body a chance to start doing it's thing. It's also not fair to compare ourselves to others, because each and every body is different! Give yourself a big hug and keep on going!!!! : )))))))))

You are doing great. Your body is really still healing and you should not expect to lose too much at this stage. It is a long process and you are just at the beginning. Be patient with yourself and with the band. Since you have no restriction it will be difficult for you to get down to the level of calories you need to eat to lose weight. So just do your best until your first fill and then see how it goes. Don't beat yourself up during this time if you don't lose weight. This is the period they call "Bandster's Hell" and they call it that for a reason.

God Bless!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
