Congratulations on losing the weight. I am amazed that even when I reach a plateau and not lose wait for a long while. It is still better then before. I used to think that a plateau was a reason to splurge and then gain the weight back.

Now I know that as long as I am not gaining life is good. If I do gain 5 lbs it a whole lot better then before where I would gain 20 to 30 lbs in a matter of weeks.

What an inspiration for those of us that about to embark on the Lap-band journey! My surgery is 5/6/09 and I have wondered if I would be able to lose such a large amount with this tool....thanx for showing us it can be done! ~Joanie

Wow, I'm very impressed. I haven't been banded yet. So far all I've done is gone to an information session. The doctor's office called me the other day to let me know my insurance would cover the entire surgery. woo hoo. Now I just have to meet one-on-one with the doc and his PA and then see the nutrition/psych, etc before setting a banding date.

You all have inspired me. I am 33 and am starting out at roughly 400lbs. :-( I've been a big boy all my life and can't even comprehend what it's going to be like to weigh less. To be able to go to a restaurant and not have to request a table because I can't fit in a booth. To be able to squeeze by people and not have then bounce of my stomach. To go to a department store and not pray they have a big and tall section.

Good luck to you all and to all of your hard work.

Whosya - u already know what i think about your progress, but what the ppl reading this thread may not know is that you did phenomenally well in your first 1/2 marathon, and that this duathlon was your 2nd annual... with what a dozen or so other events since your first one last year???You dont give yourself enough credit. Congrats on the duathlon BTW, but im waiting for u to post your results from it on c25k. keep up the inspirational work.

see folks, its not all about the wt, but obviously Whosya is certainly a role model for success in that regard. Most ppl just see the numbers. but its also a desire to make a comittment to yourself to get fit and healthy. Whosya did that, and most of us on these threads have as well, then again some of us (myself included) struggle with it every day. for me its a welcome struggle. whether we have over 200 to lose or 100 or anything in between, we have to make a comittment to ourselves to put one foot in front of the other and get healthier with every step!

Let Whosya motivate all of us, we all can do it too!

TC,

Carol

I lost 170 in the first 12 or so months and then it slowed down a bit but im still going strong and looking for my goal!

I exersised the whole time 5-6 days a week. I even started running when i was at 340LBS or so.

YOu can do it. I wasnt PERFECT but i kept pushing myself.

Hopefully i can be at goal at the end of the summer.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
