Hello! I'm Tiffani. I'm 26 years old and decided to pursue the lap band surgery via self pay. My insurance won't cover it for any reasons and I have a few health issues that need resolving and they all center around the one thing this surgery will help.. my weight.

So, I'm here for education, support, friends, and whatever else may come as I head down this new road.

I've had to take my behavioral health eval (732 true/false questions) and then followed up two weeks later with the psych eval. That was this last Monday, March 2. The 20th I'll see the nutritionist and on the 30th I'll see the psych again. He wanted me to make a few changes and show I'm committed.

So there it is!! I hope to have a surgery date sometime next month (not the surgery next month, just to KNOW the date!). I just need to be cleared by psych and I will be coordinated for surgery... wish me luck!

Yikes, 732 true and false questions? Tha't ridiculous but then again I've heard of alot of people on here having to do that, I know what you mean about the date tho, I've been kinda screwed around and then got my date on the 27th of feb for the 17th this month which is annoying to say the least lol. Anyway these forums are pretty good, especially the food and nutrition board for when you get the date and are stuck on recipes for afterwards. Good luck =)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
