Kinda nervous!!21 weeks and have not gained anything!

Recommended Posts

I am 21 weeks pregnant as of today and have not gained any weight. I actually have lost some weight in the beginning about 5 lbs. I am not trying to lose weight by any means. The baby is measuring big, so I suppose everything is fine.I have been maintining my weight, crazy since I am eating whatever I WANT TO!! With my first pregnancy, pre-band, I gained only 22 lbs. I also was not trying to lose weight at that time. I suppose I just don't gain that much weight during pregnancy's!!Anyone else like this? I go in on Thurs. to have another ultrasound, the baby was stubborn the first time around.

I dont gain a lot of pregnancy weight either - less than 20lb in my first two pregnancies and nothing at all in my third, in all three pregnancies I left the hospital lighter than when I'd conceived. My third pregnancy, I'd lost nearly 30lb of my own body fat.

Too bad for me that breastfeeding makes me blow up very quickly, I gained it all back all 3 times within 4 months.

During my third pregnancy, I was over 200lb when I conceived. I wanted to keep my weight down, having ahd blood pressure problems the first 2 times. My doctor said to do Weight Watchers, with 25 points per day. So I did. I ate really well, better than I'd been eating and I had a perfectly healthy 8lb baby girl.

The whole pregnancy gain thing is based on averages only, it is not a given that everyone MUST gain weight. Like my doctor said, pregnancy requires very few extra calories, its mainly nutrients that are important and as long as those are going in, there's not a problem in the world if you lose a bit of body fat in the process, it wont affect the baby.

Everyone's different. Committed as I am to exercise, I cannot imagine how people did stuff like spin classes at 30 weeks pregnant, I would jsut about faint trying to walk up a hill.

Medical supervision will continue to reassure you that your baby is healthy and growing, as long as that is happening, dont worry about losing some fat yourself.

I am in the same boat. I started somewhere around 154-156 and am holding steady at 144 now at 20 weeks pregnant. My OB "yelled" at me for not gaining. My last monthly check up showed I was down 1 pound from the previous month. I really am not trying to lose and am eating tons - but it is just not affecting me. I also had my band half unfilled and I am hungry and eating when I am hungry.

I have recently added in a daily shake to boost my diet per my OB's recommendation. I still haven't gained but I feel like I am eating healthy with a great diet. The baby size is fine according to the ultrasound, so I am not going to worry too much about it. As long as we are eating well . . . perhaps we are just on the lucky side

This makes me feel a little better, I am 16 weeks pregnant and am down about 9 pounds from my conception weight. I am eating more and making some poor choices in hopes of boosting calorie intake. I feel like my band is a bit tighter now too. I only have 0.5 cc in my 10 cc band so it's not like I am overfilled. I am not really showing yet, although my body is shifting and I do seem to have a bit of a gut. It looks more like I am fat than pregnant.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
