  1. 1. How many days before going back to work (desk job)?

    • Right away (1-2 days)
    • Took a weekend off (2-3 days)
    • Almost a week (4-5 days)
    • A little more than a week (6-10 days)
    • More than 2 weeks

I'm getting banded on 9/29 (so excited) and i'm taking 3 weeks off. My job requires the unexpected (kneling, sitting, walking, getting up and down, helping people and if needed running like hell) so i want to make sure im FULLY healed before going back to work. I have the time and I'm able to take it off, so why not

this was very helpful info. Thank you all. I'll be banded on Wed 12/15. I can take disability for 6 weeks, which sounded nice to be able to recover/spend the holidays with my kiddies, but wasn't sure if I should or need to.

I took a full month off. My doctor said to take as long as I wanted...and I did! I could have gone back after 1 week, would have better if I waited until 2 weeks. But, I enjoyed my time off very much.l

Hmmmm - my medical team approved the same time off as gastric bypass patients - 6 WEEKS ! The idea is to develop good eating habits and focus on yourself and your future. My job allows up to 6 months short term disability and this is the most time off I have had in 30 years -so it is an interesting social experiment as well... I am in week 4.5, and STILL have some stuff I need to get to before returning to work. Am I ready to go back physically (desk job) yes, am I ready completly - sure ( I guess). I am enjoying the time off - sure - and I hope they missed me there :-) . I think my spouce will be happy when I am back in the office and out of the house - like I said - interesting ......

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
