dramatic weight loss

how long did it take you to start seeing dramatic weight loss especially if you had a lot to use? I am 2 and a half months out from my banding and am at 36 pounds lost. I am not discouraged just curious.

Thanks

36 pounds in two months is amazing!!!!!! I dont know how it happened for me but on my day of surgery I was 291 and 291 a month before surgery...anywho, 7 days out of surgery I was in the 260s. I have no idea how that happened. Everyone is different, of course! Good luck on your journey.

had about 9 to 100lb to lose and I think I'd lost about 35 before anyone really noticed. It took a lot longer than I thought it would. It also took about that much to even go down a dress size.

Hang in there, sooner or later you'll really begin to see it.

I also started to notice looser clothing at 30 pounds down, which I am right now. Not loose enough to buy anything new, but getting baggy. I went shopping at the salvation army store this week and got a few new warm winter tops. Didn't even look at jeans, I'll live with those till summer. I spent $19 on 6 sweater in almost new condition!! That was a yea me moment. I don't want to spend alot on clothes yet, I'm not even half way there. Just a thought though, if you're ready for a few new things, try second hand and save some money!!

I lost a huge amount right after having my lapband put in, too. I lost 22lbs in 8 days. I had my surgery Oct. 30th but since about the end of November I haven't lost any more weight. I've lost between 27-30lbs since my surgery. So, I'm starting to get a little discouraged, too. I do notice though that my clothes fit a lot looser and some t-shirts and things like that that I couldn't wear before I can now wear. So I'm thankful for what I have lost I just wish that I could start losing more again. Also, I haven't even had my first fill yet so I'm sure that's part of the problem.

My weight loss itself was not dramatic. Slow and steady wins the race with the Band. People didn't notice till I dropped a dress size, about 20 pounds...

People noticed all throughout the journey, but it may be since they knew and were trying to be encouraging..

In any event, at -100lbs lost, I looked at old photos and could see a DRASTIC difference, until then I barely noticed.. I did go down in sizes, but when I looked in the mirror, I looked like what I always thought I looked like anyway.

Even now I still don't see it as much, where my husband will see an older pic and go 'I can't believe how different you look now' and I barely notice.

People really started commenting at about 80 pounds for me. I'm at almost 100 pounds lost now and people don't even know me anymore. Of coures it doesn't hurt that I have blonde hair now instead of dark brown. I wanted to look like someone else because the old me looked so bad

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
