SO proud of ME!!

Recommended Posts

Yes you heard it! I am PROUD of me!! Why, you ask? Because I gained 5 lbs over my Christmas vacation and I

1. Did NOT freak out about it! (like I normally would have)

2. Allowed myself to get over it and get back on track.

3. LOST those 5 lbs I gained in a matter of a week!! I ate better, ate less and voila 5lbs GONE!! GO ME!!! I don't know how or why but after getting Lapband surgery it has changed my way of thinking about dieting and making good food choices! I'm so proud of what I have accomplished so far even though I did make some bad food choices, I allowed myself that, got over it, and got back on track to making good food choices the majority of the time.

I've never been able to do this before and I'm so proud of myself for NOT obsessing over food!

Congrats on your accomplishments... It feels good to be proud rather than disgusted, doesn't it????!!!!! I'm feeling a bit that way myself. Yesterday was my official end of the holidays..... This morning when I weighed in I was only up 1 1/2 pounds... I was very happy... I was a bit worried as I know I ate too much of the easy foods the last two weeks and not near enough Protein. When I had my second fill on 12-15 (6 cc in 14 cc band), I was hoping for that strong feeling of restriction. I didn't get it and am able to eat more than I should. I don't, most of the time, but those darn goodies kept calling my name.... I never went crazy like I have in the past, but I did let them get to me. I'm very glad to have all the temptations gone. I'm also hoping that by the time the next holiday comes around I will have conquered all of that and lost most of my weight.... A year can change a lot.... Best of luck to you and all of us for a "losing" new year.... Happy 2009........... Julie

Way to go! So proud of you! Keep up the good work. Now I know who to contact when I fall off the wagon and feel terrible guilt for not eating the best.

So proud of you too!!! Good job on dealing with the gain and then loosing it! The same thing happended to me...I had put on 6lbs in less than two weeks when I transitioned from mushies to solids (started solids Dec. 18th)...I was a little upset, but didn't freak out! As of today, I've lost those 6lbs PLUS another 1.5lbs! I couldn't be happier!

Your doing a great job....keep it up!!!

Congrats. I think the hardest part of the journey is realizing that the band doesn't fix it all but that it helps you to learn how to use it properly. I am happy that you were able to enjoy your holiday and that you're now back on track and doing well.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
