PB'ing.. Is this a good thing????

Recommended Posts

PB'ing... Productive Burping. Is that what that means? Is this productive burping a good thing??? or something we don't want happening? And if it is a no no, why is it a no no? What causes it and how can we keep it from happening? I get the hiccups after I eat, and then in about 30 minutes or so I have a little burp or two. I just thought they went hand in hand. Anybody else asking these same questions? Also, why are we feeling the food go thru our stoma/band? Thought the idea was to keep the food in our small pouch to feel full?

Help, I have sooooo many question,

A PB/getting stuck tells you that you've done something wrong.

Either you took too big a bite, didn't chew well enough, ate too much or ate something that you can't tolerate. Sometimes you can PB if you drink with your meal.

It happens to most of us in the beginning, it is not something you want to happen but you learn from it and it helps you to learn to eat right and not cause another PB.

For me, hiccups mean I have had enought to eat.

I don't feel the food going through my band. But it is supposed to go through....slowly.

I would guess a non-productive burp is just a regular 'ole burp where you just leave out some noisy air.

A productive burp would be where your chewed food can not get into the pouch and you burp it back up.

PB will also usually be accompanied by a huge glob of slime. You'll start "sliming" (producing lots of saliva) when you've done a no-no (not chewing well enough, etc.) and then eventually the PB will come back up. Its yuck and you'll know when it happens. Its kinda like throwing up.

I was too tight with a fill yesterday and PBed a tablespoon of liquid tylenol. Even it came out surrounded in slime. I got some taken out today. What a relief!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
