Surgery went very well for me too. I was in by 6, home by 11. I have Shoulder pain from gas was really bad yesterday and last night. Much better today. Tummy area is tender, especially port incision. Everything makes me feel very full. are you experiencing that too? I have to stay on top of taking pain meds, otherwise it hurts too much. Glad to hear that your surgery went well.

I wasn't quite as lucky as you two but still doing well. I got in at noon. it was supposed to be outpatient but I ended up having to stay overnight because I had a lot of pain. the problem was that I had really strong core muscles so it was hard for them to get through them to do the surgery. they had to be rough to get through so now my stomach is really tender. also I woke up really quickly because of problems with nausea and pain. but the hospital was great and soon I was all caught up on the pain meds so it wasn't too bad after that. In the end I'm really glad that I spent the night in the hospital.

Mine went great as well. Not too much pain the tummy area, but my shoulder definitely hurts. I was the last surgery of the day and didn't get the option to go home same day. However, I am glad I stayed overnight. Hopefully these gas pains will go away soon.

Hello everyone. I had to stay overnight in the hospital, due to insurance. Came home yesterday and seem to be okay. I took out the c-ball thingy that was attached to my stomach area this morning. It was supposed to administer localized anisthesia (sp?). But I have to vent. On Saturday morning when my surgeon was visiting his patients, I was in the bathroom. I called out to him, said I would be out in second. He said no worries, he'd be back in a minute. So I waited, and waited. About an hour later a nurse came in to the room and I asked about the surgeon. She said he was gone. I explained that I did have some questions and concerns, as I was told after surgery that he had to repair a hernia. That was the first and only time I heard that I even had a hernia. So the nuse paged the surgeon, who responded that he was in surgery at another hospital. At 11 am on a Saturday morning. Hmmm. Right. I want to raise *ell, but I have to keep seeing this doctor for fills and whatever else arises, but I haven't exactly been feeling the love.

How is everyone doing? My shoulder still hurts a lot, but not all the time like it had been. My stomach feels fine. I'm down about 7 lbs. from the morning of surgery. I can't believe it! I haven't had any hunger... it's amazing. I know this will change as I heal and the swelling goes down, but if the fills can also get this feeling, it'll be great! I'm sticking to a schedule of drinking my Protein Drinks then getting a lot of fluids in in between... keeping track of my grams of Protein and ounces of Water. I think the best part so far has been the peace of mind that comes with not thinking about food all day long.

I'm not having trouble drinking at all. I do take small sips all day long, but haven't limited myself as to how much at one time. Since it's just liquid, I don't think it just sits in your little pouch. I'd think it would just go right through. I'm pretty much subsisting off of yogurt, Protein drinks, crystal light and Water.

Congratulations on your 20 lbs! That's great! I've lost 10 since surgery. I had my check up today and the doctor thought that was pretty good.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
