Last day jitters

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Well tomorrow is my time to finally get banded. I have been doing great on pre op losing weight and not cheating and mentally have been stable. Well thats what I think at least. Today has been the worst day for me. I started thinking about tomorrow from the minute I woke up today. I actually took a half day and decided to come home for comfort. I am happy but very anxious and honestly dont have an appetite today at all but I have been forcing my drinks down. I am sure I am not the only one who has felt this way. I am trying to put my mind at ease. I have no doubts about what I am going to do. I think the surgery part is whats getting me nervous. Just wanting to vent a little and here some of what everyone else went through so I know its normal and just not me.

Hey Mike,

I was a little jittery the day before surgery. I had not had any surgeries before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Everything went perfect and I was up and about in no time. I think the important thing to think about is the commitment you have made to change your life! Think of the opportunity this procedure will afford you and how great it will be to live our lives happy and healthy! I can't hardly imagine what it will be like to not have to carry around an extra 125lbs. Let us know how everything went.

Good luck to you. I am 7 days post op and feeling back to normal almost. Two good tips are get up and move as much as you can afterwards and buy the Gas X strips you will need them.

Surgery was very much a non-event. Out of the hospital 4 hours after surgery. I was anxious as well - it was also my first surgery of any kind. But it was really nothing, before you know it, you realize what a great decision the band is and what a great tool it can be...

Wishing you all the Best!

I'm sure, I too will have these jitters before my surgery (planned for Mid Feb. 09).

Hope you will calm my nerves with your experience in Feb!

I can understand the jitters - not so much about the procedure itself, but the fact that I am 36 years old this is my first surgery EVER. I've never been put under - that's what is scaring me the most! Wow - I never thought that my first surgery ever would be an elective one!

My wife and I BOTH have it done on Monday morning. My wife is an old pro at getting surgeries done, but for me it's a little nerve wrecking. Just the thought of not being in control, ya know? Like they said in Armageddon, it's one of those excited/scared feelings, you know, it's like 49% excited and 51% scared, or is it 51% excited and 49% scared? That's what makes it so intense is that it's confused!

The only thing I can compare it to is waking up in the hotel room the day that I shipped off to boot camp - excited as can be and yet scared at the same time!

Best of luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
