Hi All

Nicole/CoCo - Congratulations - so glad it went smoothly and you are home safe and sound. Sending postive thoughts and prayers. You are now officially one of the banded triplets of 2010 (Tamra, Pat and CoCo!). We love our newest triplet!

Tamra - good job on more Protein. Let me know how the chicken and gravy goes.

Dear Robin called today and said I can advance to stage III on Thursday. AAAARRRGGG - I more day of Soup. I am white knuckling it - this is hard!

Ok gotta go - going to meet some girlfriends for dinner - but I'm bringing my little 1/2 c of soup - boohoo!!

Pat ~ Way to go! She told me one more day and I had already introduced myself to stage 3, so I said oh well!

I ended up doing a precooked pork roast with BBQ sauce; it was like 3 grams sugar, cals were like 160 but for 1 cup. Its soooo good I need to slow down I am eating like I haven't had pork before LOL. It pureed decent off the BBQ Sauce, still having to chew it really well....mmmmm so good!!!

15 mins on my treadmill after dinner!

Tamra, What's with the fries!? I didn't see that on stage 3 lol. I don't mean to nag you I just want you to succeed! If they're hard to stay away from dont get them for your daughter, she doesn't need them either!

yeah I hear ya Heather, my daughter is going thru a faze where she will only eat: Apples, Hot dogs, Marshmellows, and fries/chicken nuggets. Its hard to get her to eat, I guess kids go thru a picky faze. But she usually only gets the happy meals when she has been good.

I did 1 mile (30 mins) on my treadmill, and burned like 150 cals...lol..I did a small incline, but I got tired quick. I am working my way up, 15 yesterday, 30 today!

here's my food for today...

B=atkins shake, skinny V Latte (tall)

L= 1 cup Tomato Soup w/ cheese on top

D= 2 pc cod fish

S=sf fudge pop

so not too bad... I wanted to do all Soup but I was so ready to chew when I got home dove right into the fish without thinking. Didn't have any sides tho. Starting over is no joke. I've already made a salad for tomorrow with crab on top.

I noticed that even though I was hungry I could feel my band. I just need to take it one day at a time.

Congrats Nicolie.....be sure to walk ALOT

Tamra, I'm not trying to nag either but those carbs are not your friend, take it from me. Try to stick with Protein. Yay on the treadmill!

Hope everyone had a good day. Mo where are you?

Oh this weekend is supposed to be rain free anybody up for a walk?

Ok so I need to be consistant... so I'm going to TRY and start writing what I ate/did today..

B-half a chicken breast sandwich on wheat

L-other half of sandwich

D-1 cup of bitter melon and shrimp

S-Sugar free popsicle

30- min on stairclimber "fat burner mode"

25- min on elliptical 2.93 miles

5- min on ab circle pro

I emailed Dr.Park and let her know where I'm at and my weight and everything. She emailed me right back and told me she wants me to start a 1000 calorie diet now.

So... I start that now.

I wanted to go to the meeting sooo BAD this month but that's the day i'm performing for Kaiser I'm not sure about the time though so If its later on in the day I'LL DEFINATELY BE THERE!!

It feels good to be back... *sigh* ~.~

Hey all!

No time to post. Just reading to catch up. Today was horrible for me...Long story short! I spent the entire day in emergency. My baby has RSV and a bilateral ear infection. I have had no rest and minimal food. I may have blown it with the 1/2 cheeseburger and chocolate covered almonds I just ate. I'm such an emotional eater. Oh well, tomorrow..............

Heather - Respiratory syncytial virus. Treated with breathing machines, oxygen, etc. it's bad when its in babies, Adults handle it different.

Analynn - 1000 cal now!? sheesh! good luck! you can do this!! Yep me, Nicollie, and Pat all done this year so far. John and Lee are Feb 17th, so 2 more going in soon, let's get you going!!!

Good to see you on line already Nicole - wow you got 5 cc in your band at surgery - you should be almost to your sweet spot already. Keep using your spirometer so you don't get pneumonia.

Hope your baby is doing better Mo - take care of yourself too.

Someone else this morning said I look like I have lost more weight - the scale was actually up a pound today so I must be losing inches. We went to the gym last night - I only did half an hour on the elliptical as I wasn't feeling too good to start with.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
