I got goosebumps reading your posts Nicole. Please for your sake and Audrey's protect yourself. If you need a place to stay for a couple of nights let me know.

Make sure you document the stuff your husband has been doing lately - like using Audrey to get to you. It may be important if there is a custody battle.

Nicole, as much as I don't want you to make any drastic moves I do think you need a break...few days, week whatever it takes. Give the both of you some time to think.

Welcome home Riley :tongue2: I'm sure it was beautiful. Sign me up for the the next one.

Ok I have no restriction. I bought a tall skinny latte at 10:30ish and it's gone, every last drop! Not to mention the 8oz of Water I drank in the parking lot after my walk. I've got another cup of that chili so I gonna have that next.

Candra what's going on? Let me know how it goes with Robin and the PCP.

Hi All - my internet has been messing with me the past few day - on for a minute then right back off! UGH! I unplugged EVERYTHING this time and sequnced it back on after leaving it off for 15 minutes so it better stay on now!

Jes, I got confused... My PCP isn't until friday - robin is today - sitting by the phone waiting for her to call to tell me to do what I've already done LOL. I had two scrambled eggs this morning with some cheese & peppers. gotta get some veggies in! Now I'm having coffee cuz I'm cold. down to 192 this morning - I can't believe not only am I out of the 200 club but damn near out of the 190's - it has been YEARS!!!! pulled out some old jeans - well new cus I only wore them once or twice before I couldn't pull them up anymore - and not only do they fit - they are a little lose in th waist - size 16 jr. Anyway - if it wasn't for this damn port and the SIX holes in my stomech I would have to ask - what band? I think they just installed the port and forgot the band.

So one of my incisions had a scab over it - somethime in the night the scab came off and now it is stinging.

NICOLE - GET OUT NOW. Once it gets physical, it doesn't stop. I watched my father beat the crap outta my mother for years - YEARS. black eyes, bruises all over her body - as the child of a dysfunctional family I say it's all about Auds and do what is best for her. I can't believe he's so messed up that he'd put his daughter in the mix. He needs to get some help ASAP or he's gonna lose his daughter forever - does he get that? I'm so so so sorry you have to go thru all this - we're here for you - should we come lynch Mike for you?

Tina - you may need to make a Cameo at Nicole's house! Lemme know if you need back up - Pammie will have your back and Ill have your way back LOL.

Hungry :(

Annalynne - could you put your name in your siggy so I can spell it right for once hahaha

Next time eat the toppings but not the crust! That's what I do when my brother makes pizza - lessens the carb count.

Also, they say when your body craves sweets it's really asking for protein... We are just too stupid to figure it out. Anyway - when I want chocolate I get a piece of sugar free dark chocolate and suck on it - usually helps with the cravings. I think they have those Sugar Free Chocolate suckers at see's now. gotta be better for you then truffles.

Jes, workin on my Water intake.... It's so much easier to guzzle it - "sipping" takes forever.

sugar free fudgecicles.. satisfies my chocolate craving.

I had the chili and I'm good for a while. I can drink Water no problem too, straight out the glass.

I am still holding steady at 177.4 (well up .2) This is going to be tough trying to loose with no restriction. I guess I need to walk everyday...My goal is 175 by the time I go back to work.

Candra I'm a guzzler too . . . . no sipping for me. I was chugging the day after surgery - probably not real good for me then, but don't see how it could hurt me now - there is plenty of room for the Water to go right through the band. Dr. B says don't do it but I guess that's going to be the 1 thing that I don't listen to him on!

pizza, yummo but toppings only. When I get Round Table (1 son works there so we walk down there a LOT and use his dicount!) I get the "skinny" crust, specify that I want it super thin like a cracker, and then I eat 1 pieces with the crust (not the rim part tho), and another piece toppings only - by then I'm usually full. We always get olives, so that high fat content from the olives and the cheese keeps me full for a while! Protein + fat = full the longest. Fat also works for PMS cravings when your body is DEMANDING fat and carbs - you can give it some fat - preferable healthy fat of course - but don't feed it the carbs or it will get even worse. Try half of an avacado, seriously . . . . works for PMS :-)

Avacados- MMmmmmm my favorite!! yumm..

Does any of you really use the scale and measure everything? ok and if you have a scale wheres the best place to buy a cheap "good" one.

I'm watching all these Youtube videos and I watched some girl buy baby plates, forks and spoons, and a scale, and measuring cups..

I have measuring cups.. but scale? baby plates?

I didn't use the baby spoons etc. I have never weighed my food - however I do measure it - we can have 1/4-1/3 - 1/2 c per meal - supposed to fill our pouch - that is why they say dense Proteins - otherwise with no restriction the food goes right through and you are still hungry. If you stay with the correct portions, the weight of it doesn't matter - all of this is according to Robin.

I did really well at the beginning of this journey - not so well lately. Where or where art thou restriction?

girl, I got em but havent used em yet. After surgery they say not to weigh but to measure - it's about portion sizes. I never used my baby spoons - you can have em - and I use my small 1/2c size gladwear to eat out of or a small salad plate that comes in all dish sets. Don't waist your money. I do have a scale that is digital that I got a Walmart for $19.00 (i think) I don't use it much. Just make sure you have measuring cups & spoons and you'll be fine. the baby plates are for psycological reasons - so you feel like you have a "full" plate LOL.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
