Candra - am I doing this right? I clicked on your avatar picture to go to your profile page - I don't see the pictures and I am not listed as your friend (and I know I am). ;) I am a little technology challenged lately.

Pam, did you go into your profile and accept my friend invitation cuz you're not showing up on my friends list yet. Try that first.

oh yeah mikes job front, well hes being submitted to jobs at intel again, and got an interview from them should hear back eventually.

I told him none the less whether we are together or not it would be his BEST option. Best pay etc. Oh he was supposed to start a job today, but we passed on it because it was a 6 week contract at beale.. so in 6 weeks we would have to fight for unemployment again.. and wouldnt get as much that is for sure.. because right now we get th max..

Nicole tell him to be careful - my ex turned a temp job down and the agency reported it to unemployment, and he lost it. They sometimes do report

Hello Ladies!!

Sorry I haven't checked in with you girls, I HAD A VERY HECTIC WEEKEND... uggh.. N E ways..

I went to my class on Friday...it was very informative interesting... no offense or disrepect to anyone.. but yeah.. I WAS DEFINATELY IN THE Gastric Bypass class.. As soon as we started the Video the man next to me fell instantly asleep, started snoring, and then making like these infant yelp type sounds.. LOL... the lady across from me had a hard time staying awake and the lady next to me was head bobbing and trying to keep herself awake.. I kept on thinking "how can you guys be faling asleep!? This is like a door to a whole new world for us!" Then I realized... sleep Apnea... LOL.. HELLO!!!

So after class I emailed my dr. and he confirmed with me that he sent my referral to the RICHMOND KAISER!!! YAY!!! I asked Kaiser what was up with that.. they said RICHMOND is pretty booked so they are routing members to the SSF Kaiser.. Honestly.. I don't really care if its Richmond or SSF.. I just want to make sure I get in quick.. I wonder can I call SSF to see how long their "wait time" will be? I might call... Well today all I have to do is get my thyroid checked or do blood work for that and then... that's it.. I wait.. I guess... right? Do any of you ladies know what I can do to get in right away??

Do any of you post-op girls ever eat edamame? I'm having some for lunch and I'm curious how many pods you eat now that you have decent restriction. Serving sizes are hard to tell with them since you don't eat most of it! lol

Anyone?

OHHH Christine this is one of my favorites! I buy the shelled ones though, boil about 1/3 cup in the microwave, drain them well, then put on a couple of tablespoons of Trader Joe's Pomodoro sauce (super-low fat & carbs) and a tablespoon of low-fat cheddar or fresh parmesan cheese - YUMMO to die for! It works really well with my band too, I feel like I have eaten a LOT I still have to chew really well, but they are plenty filling. I also eat the dry roasted edemame but they are a mindless snacking thing for me so try to just have them around for Protein emergencies!

So for the pods, 1/2 cup has 100 cals 9 total carbs but 4 of fiber and 8 of protein! Compare that the shelled which has 120 calories per 2/3 cup, 9 total carbs 3 fiber and a whopping 10 protein. So the pods have better fiber but the amound that I can eat of those is not enough to get my whole 15-20 grams of protein that I shoot for in a meal.

Oh and Robin totally approves of the above recipe, as long as it is mostly edamame and not mostly sauce.;)

Hi La Chica, Richmond is faster than SSXF - they will tell you 6-8 months . . . my wait at Richmond was 3.5 months - but I did not sit around and wait passively, I worked like heck and lost all of my pre-surgery weight before I met with the surgeon so Ithey fast-tracked me, which they will do with you too if you lose your 10% between orientation and when you meet with the surgeon. I could have been in weeks earlier but scheduled my surgery for a week that I already had off of work. YOU are the one making it go fast by losing weight fast - as soon as you do, you are 3 to 6 weeks from your surgery date.

I think SSF is pretty fast too. Especially since Richmond is starting to get over crowded. Doesn't hurt to check but then again why use all that gas to go to SSF.

I originally had my referral to SSF but i changed it to Richmond because it was closer to where I lived. Now that I'm where I am It may have been easier to go to SF since it's close to my job and I might not have had to take all those days off.;)

Much easier commute Chris!! Five minutes from my house. Work enviroment is pretty negetive at the place I am going but I will just try to stay out of the office politics. My whole office is being shut down and those of us not on the layoff list are moving to other offices.

My only concerns is that this is just a step in the lay off process since they are closing down offices. I move in two or three weeks so I am gonna start packing boxes this week..........my office is too full I have to start early.

eggs and veggie sausages for Breakfast

salad for lunch with Beans for the protien ( I ate ALOT)

vanilla decaffe skinny latte this morning with my boss

being at work is helping me not snack. I am way to busy catching up today to snack. HOpe I can hold out after work!! LOL.

Ok back to work.......later ladies.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
