I had Constipation, and had to rely on suppositories, but once I got onto solid food again, things returned to normal. I think it was due to the restricted diet, and that the dietitians should do more to prepare us for it, and adjust the diets accordingly.

Just as an FYI- I read about this trick... Get up in the AM and make yourself a nice mug of hot tea. While you are drinking it, STAND UP and read the paper, do the dishes, whatever. The point is, as you are drinking, STAY STANDING. Stay standing for about 10 mins after you're done drinking. The warm liquid while standing gets those digestive parts working. If I have time, I'll drink TWO cups. I've been doing this for a week and have had success EVERY DAY I have done it, and NO success the days I haven't. On days it has worked, I haven't taken the Miralax... Anyway, it is worth a shot and another thing that works for me.

Be careful with the Constipation I have had it often since I have my band and I can go 3 to 4 days without going then I use laxitives then I go then okay for a while and back to the same thing, last week I went all week with a pain on my left side that was on and off then Saturday it got worse, Sunday I was in pain so off I go to the ER, well they told I had Diverticulitis and it was most likely caused for the constant constipation. So now I have to be on a high Fiber diet and really watch out about getting constipated. It was really painfull so I want to do what ever it takes to avoid that pain again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
