Hey guys. Just signed up for Lapband. My surgery was Tuesday. The shoulder pain is killing me. I'm 21 years old and I have school monday. I hope that I will be able to move around to my classes. I'm really nervous about this whole thing. I find myself craving crackers and seafood. No clue why but I'm dying to eat some sushi.

Hey Whitney,

I'm 12 days out. My advice to you is to move around as much as possible now, it will help you get ready to get to classes. I was lucky and able to take this whole time off, but I really didn't start feeling better until I got my butt off the couch and walked! Also, leave EARLY! I can get around pretty well, but just a little slower, so give yourself extra time to get to class. And keep your load as light as possible. I find it feels like it pulls on my incisions if I carry anything slightly heavy. Hope this helps! As for the seafood craving, can't help ya, i hate seafood!!

Hey hun,

I was just banded on Nov 14 and school was one of my biggest worries. I intended on going back to school on a monday when my surgery was on a friday, but it was too much. I was lucky to be able to take a couple of days off but going back I really had to take it slow. Make sure you give yourself the time you need and let your professors know ahead of time , just in case you need to get up and move, or get a drink.

I hope everything goes well.

I had surgery friday and was back at school Monday.

DON"T eat! I know you're hungry; I was too! But stick with whatever post op diet you have. You'll thank yourself later! And the shoulder pain is referred pain from you diaphragm. If you have someone who can rub your neck and shoulders for you, it should help pretty quickly!

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
