Binge Drinking = Bad. Really, really bad.

Recommended Posts

just a heads up, idk how many of you do drink alcohol pre-op or post-op,

but for the love of God, drink in moderation.

the night before Thanksgiving, I decided it would be fun to do 7-8 shots of rum. NOT GOOD.:)

when it came time to hurl, im pretty sure the lapband kept the alcohol in my stomach, so i ended up painfully dry heaving for an hour.

REALLY SUCKY.

so yeah, don't be like me, and stay safe.

ooo, yeah.. thats not good...I think the first time I drank, I got smashed off of 2 sips.. I was a light weight before the surgery now.. It's just funny. Thats not good with ur lapband though.. You don't want slippage, ugh.. Good luck!

The bad thing about having the band is you can't throw up the alcohol when you're done drinking. That was always my escape plan. A quick nap is the only other thing that helps, but you have to make sure you don't just pass out. Haha

i've been drinking socially since i was about 16, and proud to say i've never thrown up from it (well, except for that one time when we had really gross mexican food afterwards, but i'll always blame it on the food)

.... i have been a little nervous approaching drinking now that i'm banded. i guess we'll see how i do... hopefully i'll have my body figured out by the time i have my 21st birthday in march! my 110 pound 5 foot 4 roommate did 21 shots in 21 hours... i have a feeling i'll be getting a lot of pressure to drink a lot because of that...

I was banded 9-25-08. I was nervous when I drank for the first time a few weeks ago. It went ok. I did feel like it may have irritated my belly a bit but it passed. I was able to drink the same amount as before banded. The dr's told me the band doesn't change your tolerance (amount you can drink). Take it easy guys LOL!

what! thats crazy! my 6th grade teacher would have told us alcohol was an abomination..

well, that changed a few years later i guess. her daughter is one of my good friends and senior year of high school i went over to her house, and there was my 6th grade teacher, drunk and walking around in her underwear. mind blowing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
