Morning Girls~

TracyK...I'd ask where that money is going??? Is this a public school? What about the kids who don't have a dollar?

TracyKS...Perhaps give it a day. It is mid week and it will settle down. I've had some serious puking (not pb'ing) sessions...and yes, after I am wiped out. Take care of it today...do some mellow broth or smoothies.< /span>

Michelle...really looking forward to your visits! I have been telling anyone who will listen that two of the violets are coming! They are all looking forward to meeting you guys as well!!!

I got graduation information last night in my email. The email was addressed to Dr. Pamela Lastname and I burst into tears! This is the first time the university has recognized me as Dr! Holy Crapola...this is really happening?

Thank Goodness it is Wed. One more day. We are finishing our (the students) Power Point presentations on the presidents they had to research. It has been a lot of work...but it is over! Then we have math lab in the pm...so it should be a quick and fun day since we are only in our classroom for 2 periods!

I sent my 4 yr. old nephew and neices a card each w/ $10 in them. He called and said, "Thank you for my card and my dollar!" SOOOO cute! Said he is going to buy some toys! Said in school they colored eggs and the Easter Bunny! I love it! I called my bro and said I want to see the kids on Easter! I will keep them until about noon, then drive them up to Yucca to their nanny! I was going to be alone on Easter studying...but caved after that phone call!

OK...gotta run and put my face on! Have a great day!

Just got home from work. Hubby and I ususally split an english muffin but today I wanted the whole thing to myself. Yup, I ate it and now I'm regretting that decision. I am so stuffed. Not PBing but close to it.

TracyKS, I think I would give it another day of rest. Try smoothies and Water. I would also stay away from coffee or anything that would get your acid worked up. Do try a prilosec. By tomorrow morning if it hasn't settled down call the office and ask them for a nausea pill.

Getting ready to go tot the store and taking both sister (God give me strength). Thought I would look at the hams and see what they have for Sunday.

Have a good day all.

I'd keep it bland, TracyK... van pro shakes, little bits of banana, lots of h20... no citrus or coffee or tomato-based anything... give it a day or so to calm down...

TracyinKS....yeah, what they said! Just baby it for a day or 2.

The dollar....i dunno where it goes really. They dollar us to death over here. HUGE into fundraisers, family participation, the whole 9 yards.

I didn't know about the Wednesday 'pay to play' until this last week. Macy loves it. Wish it were longer than 30 minutes!

Gosh I miss Prilosec :)

Tracy did you eat anything relatively close to bed? Don't do that if so.. also, the acid vomits I've had before were from taking Advil before bed.. don't ever do that, gah it is miserable.

I go to the doc in about an hour to check my progress. No baby news, BUT I have an ironic story :glare:)

For special occasions in our family we go to the hibachi restaurant (Shogun), and for my high school graduation we went.. and I have pics, and in those pics my bro's g/f was ready to pop with my niece..she gave birth 2 weeks later.

We went last night for my sister's birthday and I should be giving birth within 2 weeks.. so some sushi to welcome them into the world hehehe.

I weigh myself before I go to the doc, so I know what to expect in her reactions.. it only took 8 months, but for the past 3 weeks I have not gained weight, and this week I actually lost 1lb!

Tracyks, it sounds like you might be too tight, but definately give it a day or two and baby it before you call. You probably need some Fluid out, but if you go today, they will take too much out.

Tracyk, that is crazy about the $1. I would be seriously thinking about that dollar too!!!

Michelle, Aunt Flo was mean this month, she just left, and I called her names, maybe she went to your house mad at me!!!

I hope today is better than yesterday at work, okay anything would be better!!!

Good morning, or actually afternoon.

tracyks - ditto what everyone said. clear broths only, i think. nothing solid at all.

laura - YUM, I love shogun. I haven't been in a long time even though we have one right down the road from us. Good luck at your appt today!

Judy - i still haven't seen your pics but will try to get at them this afternoon.

I still don't have a laptop at home! It's driving me nuts. I chose to buy airline tickets instead of laptop though. I bought my palm spring tickets last week, my alabama tickets this week, my cabo tickets next week. Trying to space it all out...

My fill is doing it's job. With my band and with my head. It's weird but when I'm restricted and not eating much is when my head is totally in the game. I've been exercising now almost every day. I'm sure that if I had been exercising during the time that I wasn't tight that I wouldn't have gained 20 lbs but that's just the way my head works I guess. I'm just thankful I'm back on track.

I did 30 minutes on the elliptical last night, cruches for my abs and worked on my arms some. If I could just figure out a way to wittle my arms down so I could wear sleeveless tops I would be so so happy. I can always hide my belly pooch but I love love strapless dresses and I usually have to put on a sweater over them...

okay, i'm rambling now... I'm off to heat up my lunch/breakfast. I'm eating a Healthy Request chicken dinner. It's spinach and something else with chicken. No Pasta. YUM.

For dinner I'm making meatloaf and mashed potatoes...

What's everyone making for Easter Sunday? We're torn at my house and i'm having my sisters over tonight so we can plan the menu...

Waah.

I told doc I am leaning toward giving him an extra week to come on his own (up to my due date instead of April 16). She checked me and said I'm not favorable for induction at this point anyway :glare:

I am still dilating more and more, but not effacing at all and he hasn't dropped down (engaged). Not what I was hoping to hear, since I am waiting every minute for something to happen!! I go next week, and see if there's anymore progress, and we go from there.. if he's not born by the due date I think I am going to induce (2 days before due date actually).

My mom was 42 weeks when they finally induced her with my brother, and she had made NO progress, it was a 48 hour labor with induction. She said she thinks 'back in the day' she would have been one of those women who just never gave birth, the baby dies and eventually rots & kills the momma.

Laura-I know how anxious you are...Carson will know when he is done cookin'. The best advice I got was this....suck up the silence now. Before you know it, it will be a thing of the past! lol

Wow, Laura!! Good news except for that effacement thing...sorry! I was 10 days late with my 1st one...in August...in Houston. I know how each day drags on and on and it can be hard to take! This, too, shall pass. Everybody is healthy and that's the main thing now.

Laura - 8 lbs!!!! Woo hoo! That's awesome, and he's getting bigger every day? WOW.

Thanks tracy. I needed to get my ass moving again. That's really all i needed. Now that I see the freaking scale moving down again it's given me motivation to actually try to eat a balanced diet.

Still haven't gotten to Judy's pics. Just popping in real quick...

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
