Menstrual ???

Recommended Posts

My periods are heavy and quite painful (cramp wise) now. Do they get better, worse or stay the same after band placement? Just curious.

Being banded had no effect on me, period-wise. It's just not the same system; I don't think one thing has anything to do with the other. Losing weight might, I guess, but the actual banding process has no effect.

It depends on what is causing them to be so heavy. Mine was PCOS- and the extra estrogen from the fat made me stock away cells and the fact I don't have them regularly made them bigger and ickier.

That has all changed with weightloss (the metformin made sort of regular) but since hitting abou 30 bmi- they have been regular and what I suppose is normal (however abnormal it is for me)

Mine stayed the same as well.

hormone's seem to be a little out of whack, but cycles are still the same!

Thanks for the useful info. I take Metformin 3 times daily for my Diabetes. The Dr. upped my dosage to help regulate my periods. They do come once a month and are usually 3-5 days in length. They aren't as bad as they used to be. But I still usually have 1-2 heavy days with heavy cramping. I was diagnosed with PCOS. The DR. who diagnosed that said if I lost weight it would probably cure the PCOS. My lap band surgeon said to stop the Metformin One week pre-surgery. Hubby and my ultimate goal is to have a child. Thanks again ladies for all your help!

I have changed my dosage only. It is still needed to control the PCOS symptoms (they are way less sever with weight loss- but they are still there).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
