Anyone with a Mid Band?

Recommended Posts

Greetings - I am wondering if anyine has a Mid Band? I got mine in TJ Mexico last March. I didn't find out till afterwards that the Mid Band is not approved in the US so I can not get my Fills here so I have been going to Eveything is going fine. I just curious how the othes with Mid Bands are doing?

I've never heard of a mid band. How is it different from a regular band like most of us have? Does it have to do with placement? Is it placed around the middle of the stomach so you have a bigger pouch?

I have a MIDband. In Canada, we are able to access several different types of bands. The Swedish Band was used here as well before it was rebranded as the Realize Band.

I'm thrilled with my band. I've lost 85% of my weight so far, and have had zero complications. Of course, its more about what you DO with your band, than which band you have.

My surgeon prefers this band because it is more flexible, doesn't need to be sutured in place and has lower rates of erosion and slippage. The only reason it isn't approved in the US is because as a smaller company, the cost of going through the approval process is financially prohibitive.

Where are you located? Perhaps you could get fills in Canada?

I've never heard of a mid band either.

Why would it not be stitched into place to help prevent slippage? The AP band is wider than the old bands but it's still stitched into place.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
