Hi, My name is Jan and I am from NH - I have been fighting my weight for years- at 280 I have had it - but...I'm 65 years old, basically in good health except for all the weight related problems - does anyone else around my age have any thoughts on the procedure? I am in a relationship with a wonderful skinny gentleman and we are considering moving to North Carolina to escape our winters when I retire in October 2009. I would like to move with my weight under control. I want to be able to enjoy retirement and my man - Thanks for any input you may have.

I say go for it. It's never to late to get in shape. There is an over 60 group on here. Check them out. I'm sure they will be more than willing to tell you about their experiences with the band. Good Luck, Maggies:shades_smile:

I am 63 and had the band on July 1st 08. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have lost 42 lbs and I am happy about it. Had to have cataract surgery so my exercise was on hold for a while, but I am back at it. I am walking now. I lose a lot better if I exercise.

Don't look back, you will feel so much better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
