Hey! It looks like we have a lot in common. I have yet to get banded but that day is pretty close! Hopefully you can give me some good advice in the future! I look forward to chatting! My name is Jamie by the way...

Hello, I am 32 and single with no children. I just received my approval and am awaiting the call from my surgeon for my surgery date. I am excited, but admit that it has been an adjustment. Many people that I have told are supportive, however I have encountered many that are not, including some of the medical professionals I see. All in all I am hyped about my fresh start. Looking forward to chatting with you.

We"ll do great, don't listen to any negative people and try to surround yourself with positive support. I love my band and am excited to lose weight. I'm down 22 in 2 months.

Hi all

I'm Jennifer, 37 and with no kids. I'm in Houston and spend most of my time at work, working in the yard and with my animals (dogs & cats). I really dont have the desire to get married or have kids - yet - and I dont know if I ever will. Life is going great right now and I have a fantastic, supportive family, great friends and the perfect job.

I was banded on 1/22 and Im not having any complications or pain. I've really changed my eating habits and now Im exercising too. I know this was the perfect choice for me and Im glad I did it!

Nice to meet everyone here!

Not that I don't love my parent people out there---I really do--I think being a parent alone shows great character and admirable strength--I'm just hoping to find some buddies around my age that I can share some single, no children having lap band experiences with...If you are out there, please reply, I would love to hear from you! Let me introduce myself--my name is Lisa, Latina,California, teacher, single, great friends and family, love life and enchiladas...a little too much of the latter, which is how I ended up here on this lovely supportive website. Everyone is so wonderful in this place--informative, friendly, caring...I don't know if it's because of all the pain meds all post op patients are on, but I don't care, I appreciate you all. My surgery is Nov. 18th and I'm already digging out my slutty clothes from my slimmer days--it is truly an exciting time for me. If you are interested in being a best bud, let me know!

Hey Lisa,

I am 31, single, no kids, and I feel the same way about looking for single no kids friends. Lol I love my friends with kids and love kids and want them soon, but I understand completly.

I just got banded 02/24/09 and have lost 10 lb so far, I wish I would have lost more. It's been difficult journey to get here and I'm trying to be patient with it. I have not had my fill yet, so maybe after that I will see a difference. What do you think?:tt1:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
