Pain much later after eating

Recommended Posts

I get this pain under my left breast - on the rib cage about 2 hours after eating. I have been advanced to soft food and was banded on 9/22. No fills yet. Has anyone else had this? I follow the food plan and portions so I don't know what is causing it. Also - my surgeon wants me to lose 10-15 pounds in 3 weeks. I weighed 188 at my visit. I think that is too much too fast. Most diets say 1-2 pounds a week. What do you all think? Thanks.:wink2:

I get that occasionally; it's my port site. If I sit up very straight it goes away so apparently something in there is occasionally crowding my port. I don't know if that can be what's wrong w/you because I don't know where your port is etc but in any case, you are safest to ask your doc what it might be.

i get the same type of pain. I am only 6 days post op and it didn't start until yesterday. I think it is normal but best to check with the doc.

I had my banding done 9-23, then 3cc fill on 10-3, went out to dinner last friday ..ate Soup and 2 oz of flaky fish, started to get the same pain you described. Did not think to much about it just thought the soup was rich and upset my new stomach. I went to work on saturday, in the am i was fine but as the day progressed sooooo did my pain. I ended up in the emergency room. I was admitted for four days with dehydration and kidney infection and kidney stone and pneumonia. Now the crazy thing is i drink at least 60 oz of Water and then other liquids a day....I exercise with a trainer twice a week....how this happened they dont know....just be careful of pain that gets worse. By the tiime i went to the ED i had a 102.8 temp. Tallk to your doctor, and by the way my port is on the right side of my body

hope this helps

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
