I know it seems like December is a ways off but really it's just less then two months away. I finalized my surgery date yesterday for Dec. 5th with Dr. Kuri. So are there any others out there with December dates looking for support and help?

Hi Pete,

I am scheduled for December 4. I am so excited it is difficult to wait. I want to be healthy. I want to be able to look in the mirror and not grimace. What a wonderful Christmas present we are giving ourselves. I told my family that their Christmas present this year was me getting healthy...so I would be around longer. How could they argue with that.

I posted this in the December forum also but thought I'd post it here as well. My surgery is scheduled for December 15th.

I'm amazed to see people starting the process in Sept and already having a date. It was a much slower process here in Vermont.

I'm new to the forum. Will be banded December 3rd. Not quite sure how to set this page up of mine. How do you get the scale across the bottom?

Hi gnana-

Go to www.tickerfactory.com then go through the steps to create your own "Weight Loss" ticker. At the end you will have the choice to "Get Code". At this point copy the bbCode. Then on this site on the upper right of the page go to the User CP link. This is the settings for you on this site. On the User CP page on the left hand side select the edit signature and then all you have to is paste the bbCode from the tickerfactory.com website in the text editor and save your signature. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message.

Does anyone plan on having a last meal kind of thing? I'm eating out for 2 or 3 meals for a last taste of the foods I might not be able to tolerate anymore after the band (but other than that sticking like glue to my self-imposed pre-pre-op diet).

Yesterday I went out for a burger and fries at a diner, since I might not be able to have Buns or possibly even fries anymore (some people can't tolerate them anyway). I'll probably have deep-dish pizza one of these days as well, since doughy crusts might be out. And, since I love steak but might have to give it up forever, I'm going to a fabulous steakhouse this weekend. The steak is actually on my current diet, so I'm not even "cheating" for that one.

Anyone else getting in their last few favorites?

P.S. Pete, I was wondering how your pre-pre-op diet is going? I'm doing great on mine except for the little last meals out thing - I'm down about 10 pounds so far. By the time I get to and complete the liquid diet, I might even be down 20 or 25 pounds. Wow! I think it will make a big difference in having a successful surgery without complications. (Not to mention it's a great head start!)

Awesome! It's great to have support isn't it? My family is finally behind me on this decision as well (it took a while!). But now that I've convinced them that this is what I need, they are behind me 100% as well.

By the way, what kind of pre-op diet do they have you on? I can't imagine it's a liquid diet if they have you on it for a month. I'm just curious.

Hiya dietpeach!

I am actually doing pretty well on it. The last two weeks was just one meal a day on the liquid shakes. This week I started both Breakfast and lunch with liquid shakes and then I usually have a banana or an Atkins bar between meals for snack. dinner I still have not cut competely down to the LSD diet yet but I will be next Friday. I am not sure if I have lost on it but I actually do feel a bit better. I have had a couple of last meals/treats as well. Getting that out of the way before the offical start of the LSD. Like today I actually went out to lunch with a co-worker. I told him that we had this week and next. We usually would go out every Wednesday for lunch but he's also very supportive of what I am doing so he is completely understanding that I won't be able to after next week for a while. Anyway it's going well and I really think it's going to make the whole process a lot easier working into it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
