  1. I am in the same boat as you! I was so tight after baby I couldn't eat a thing so I gained weight! I feel like I'm at square 1 again!
  2. Yes ladies. I to am having difficulty. I had lost about 80lbs prior to getting pregnant, but was having difficulty conceiving so I had an unfil and gained about 25lbs. I got pregnant and did pretty well about the weight gain I think I gained about 30 but lost 20 after birth so I was only about 10 over my prepregnancy weight but I had to have an unfill because of breast feeding and I know I've gained more weight! My little one is going on 20 weeks and I don't know what to do to get started again! I feel like a failure! I have been banded almost 5 years and have put most of the weight back on! I don't know what to do!

A new set of progress pics! Still a ways to go! But look at how far I've come!
  4. This was pretty much what all 25 comments where like....and all i simply said was I am doing the band and WW after being on WW a billion times I finally have something that will work for ME.
  5. OMG I cannot believe how horrible the WW boards are to Lap banders!!!! I recently started using WW along with the band and have been seeing amazing results! WW has always been my favorite lifestyle plan so I wanted to combine the two together. I talked it over with my doctor and we adjusted my points to fit my band. I posted a message on the boards saying that I have the band it is the only thing that has helped me to this extent and the combination of the two is amazing. The responses I got where hurtful and uninformed. First they kept comparing me to a Gastric Bypass patient, which I would never want to be due to the complications. That's why I picked the lap band. Second, the called it the Lazy man's diet, also stating that I shouldn't be promoting WLS on their boards. Some of the other things that they where saying: They couldn't believe that i've only lost 35lbs in 4 months compaired to their 45lbs wl in the same amount of time, how could I spend that much money just to be cut up and still have to be doing the same thing as them, Did I mention they called me lazy, said I had underlying mental issues. and so forth. And I all I said was that they combination of the two for me is a great one! I just can't believe it! Look at this post! "I honestly don't care you have taken that route, I call it the lazy route, all I'm saying is please don't be coming to WW and touting surgery as an alternative to diet and exercise. So, take your story elsewhere. Last thing I want ppl to do is read ur rant and give up on a healthier way to lose weight and opt for the lazy option like you did! your 10lb gain is not "magic" on cruises, its called you can't stop eating. " The funny thing is that this posters signiture says heres hopping the third time is a charm! ha!

  9. My grandmother had my uncle at 43. This was in the 70's and he turned out fine....depending on how you define fine.
  10. Ive been losing 4-7lbs every month since December. I'm down 34!
  11. 1. Stay away from food...the smell will get to you I promise! 2. Make sure the optifast is always chilled....there is nothing worse than warm optifast. 3. Vary your optifasts. Add ice and blend for a smoothie. I liked to make Vanilla Chi tea and put a vanilla optifast with some splenda and ice....very good! Also you can try different food extracts to vary the flavor. 4. For something warm you can also have chicken or beaf bullion cubes with warm water...these kept me going! 5. Eat SF popsicles and SF Jello. 6. Make sure to have 1 Optifast every 3 hrs 5 times a day...it really beats the hungeries. 7. Try and go for walks when it really gets to you 8. Remember this is probably the hardest part of the Lapband process. If you can get through this you can get through surgery and post-op life.
  12. I thought that the soda part would be the hardest, but if your a self-pay the thought of paying for another surgery will help you kick the habit. I admit i have like 3 sodas since I was banded in December but I try to let them go flat and I've had a few sips here and there. Beer was a pretty big thing to but I've had exactly two beers. I don't think the occassional carbonated beverage would do significant damage but try and stay away from them.
