What does restriction feel like to you?

Recommended Posts

So it's odd, I used to be someone that would stuff themselves, because I'd go straight from starving to omg! I shouldn't have at that!

So now it's weird that my restriction really isn't like "I'm full." more like "well I'm not really hungry, blah I'm bored of eating." I seriously get bored of eating...who thoughtt that would ever happen lol:blink:

Its pretty crazy isn't it. I used to be the person who ate when i had emotional stuff happening. i had a super messy break up with my ex and I just didn't want to eat at all. It's because our brains obsess over food. Now that we aren't obsessive, we don't think about it anymore.

You should be making sure you feel full. As long as you are eating the amount of food that you are supposed to, which I had trouble doing, than you are perfect. :] If you don't eat enough, than your body will go into starvation mode and save all the food you eat. You should be full after you are done eating and than not get hungry for hours afterward.

Well I'm not getting hungry. I sometimes do eat frequently some days just because I feel like I should be eating, but then I take a bite or two and realize I'm still full. I'm getting enough food in tho...

Than you are good to go. You will probably need a fill though in the next few months. Your stomach shrinks and gets used to having the band there. Also, the saline evaporates too. Weird I know, but it does.

Keep up the good work :]

Restriction for me is a feeling of pressure in my upper chest, when i get that feeling it means .....your done eating do not eat another bite or you will have problems. I never really have a full sensation, a satisfied feeling yes but not a full sensation.

Its because the full sensation is in the bottom of your stomach. If you ever eat like yogurt pretty fast, it will make you feel full. Granted it compeletly misses the point of the band but that the price we pay.

Sometimes the full feeling is a lot like being stuck. I can be REALLY hungry, haven't eaten in a good while, eat two bites and feel FULL. I know I'm not full, but rather am stuck..... It takes getting used to.

I was banded on 9/16/08 at NYU by Dr. Kurian and am scheduled for my first fill on Friday 10/10. Any advice? I have had a great recovery so far, eating regular food, but no steak, white meat chicken or Pasta etc....I am scared of throwing up. What should I expect? The weight loss has been slow a total of 17 pounds from the time of my first surgical consult. I ate so little during the pre-op then liquid stage, ate a little bit more during mushy stage. It seems like my body went into shock once I ate so little. Anyway, any and all advice is very appreciated!!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
