Gotta get back on the wagon...

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

It's been a very long time since I posted. I've fallen back into old patterns and am in a funk.

Here are my excuses:

1. I HATE the new format of this board. HATE IT...I click on Forums to change it back to the old way, but sometimes I forget and the other format just totally drives me nuts!

2. I was too tight---could barely eat solids for three months...bad plan..got a slight unfill and have been porking on everything I oculdn't have for three months.

3. Had surgery in July...Couldn't exercise or lift my kids and needed to totally chill for 6 weeks...not moving quickly becomes a HABIT...

4. Totally eating too much...

So there are the excuses...now I just need to stop pigging out...Have a fill scheduled...Oldest is back at preschool...can get back out with the twins ...

MUST DO THIS>>>>

Any words of encouragement???

Good to be back...

Rainer

Rainer, you can do this! Try to remember your original motivation. Think about your kids. Set a short-term goal. Bottom line, do whatever it takes to get back on track. We ALL have our weak moments where we get off track. I had a bad day yesterday and today with food, but I told myself this afternoon that I was getting back on track, and I have. The biggest change I've probably made in my life is not letting a few mistakes define my future. In the past, when I dieted, I would quit when I got off the diet once. I figured, "well, I already blew it, so why bother?!" Now, I say, "It was a moment in time, and I can choose how I proceed." (I hope I didn't sound too preachy...this simply comes from someone who shares your same struggles and wants to encourage.)

Good luck!

Wow! You've lost over 100 lbs. - THAT in itself should be a great motivation to get moving again. You only have 53 more to go! I have read about other people going through some challenges that interfere with the lap band way of life, so I am sure it's easy to slip back into old habits. Just try to remember why you chose this way of life in the first place. Maybe you could pull out some of your worst 'before' pics and remember how it felt to be that over-weight. Please be encouraged. I'm a novice, but I can tell you that I would give anything to have already lost that much weight. Hang in there...you CAN do it!

How are you doing? I am one of the slowest losers ever, but I am not killing myself and I am certainly not depriving myself. I always choose to hang out with my son over going to the gym any day. But if you would have told me that I could lose 30 pounds without spending hours in a gym, I would have thought you were crazy. I just eat half of what I used to. Now that I have hovered over the same number on the scale for a few weeks now, I will definitely have to step it up. Enjoy Christmas and everything it has to offer. Come Jan 2nd, put your game face on and get moving. That is my plan anyway. Just an FYI, Oprah has the first 2 weeks of her "Live your Best Life" shows starting Jan 5th I think. Where she comes to terms with weight, body image etc. Looks very motivating.

Talk about motivating..........Have you looked at your before and after pic? You are amazing!!! Good Luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
