Yoga after band?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here do yoga? I am wondering if there is a problem with the port moving or dislodging during things like forward or back bends?

Anyone?

I've done both Hatha and Ashtanga yoga over the past few months and have had no problems what so ever. I can't do back bends (I have a bad lower back), but I am pretty flexible and haven't had any issues. No physical exercise has ever affected my port in anyway.

You can only try it, taking it easy to start with and see!!

I have never really tried yoga, have either of you tried any of the yoga videos out there? I have been thinking about that to improve my flexibility after surgery. Thanks for any response.

I have done a few videos...The only problem with them is they get repetitive. It takes a lot of good discipline to sit in front of the tv and do the class. I actually when I think it is time and I am ready would like to go back to hot yoga classes. Only things is I need to be super sure I get all my Water in and to just take it easy.

Can you recommend a beggining video that you tried? I want to try it at home just so I will know something instead of trying to learn in class in front of other people.

The yoga class was great. It was definitely more of a relaxation thing than feeling like I was getting exercise, though I stretched some long lost muscles and one thing was hard for my arms (holding them in a certain way out in front of me for several moments.)

I am going to keep doing it, as I think it will help keep me focused, relaxed and limber.

My class is called a "gentle" class, and everyone there was either overweight or over 60!

My friend takes a class at the same place and it's a regular class. When the next session starts, I'll join her. I like this class though because the instructor is a bit chunky--- so it's not super intimidating! I took the same class a year ago and liked it then too, but it's different with the band. I had to do something where you lay on your stomach and lift your legs and arms up. It sort of hurt my port area, but not bad enough to stop.

Unless you become a real yogi, I don't think yoga alone is enough exercise to really become your whole regime. It's more of an added bonus to whatever else you already do!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
