Shahram Salimitari M.D.

Recommended Posts

Dr. Salimitari did my surgery on 8/6/09. I have had bleeding at the port site and am hopeful it will heal soon. I too am going to see him in his new office at 9301 wilshire, although they don't always answer the phone so I don't know if his staff travels with him. Top surgeons will still see you, so I am unsure what to do. Now I feel like we who had Dr. Salimitari are left to our field our own ways. I don't feel like we have the support that they have at top surgeon.

I will take any help I can get.

I see I'm not the only one with bad experience with the Staff. I am to get banded tomorrow (Aug 27) @ Tri City in Hawaiian Gardens and I did the blood work and xray @ Downey Community yesterday. After the Xray/Bloodwork I received a call from catherine saying that Dr Ollie Jackson who was to do my surgery refused to do it because I did not get approval from my primary physician so I would have to get his permission or meet Dr Salimitari Shahram to see if he Oks it. I called my Dr to get the stuff done, i am a day away from surgery and have no idea if I will be worked on tomorrow. I have no received a called from Tri City or from Top Surgeon. I have seen great compliments about dr. Salimitari here and its comforting but the staff need to be more professional, especially having a patient in limbo a day before surgery. I hope all goes good and I go to surgery tomorrow.

Good Luck!! We are really close to one another... I live in Norwalk, CA.

Just got the procedure yesterday and I have to tell you Dr. Salimitari was excellent, I only meet him before the surgery but he made me feel comftable and asured me that I would be ok. Sometimes you just need someone thats just more than a doctor and he was that.

Yeah, the first 24-48 are the worst , but it subside quickly, hang in there you'll do fine. I knew you'd like Dr. Salimitari, you can't help but like him, he's awesome, by far one of the best Dr's. I've ever dealt with and I deal with a lot of them being a nurse. Glad to hear everything went well for you.

I had a few questions maybe someone can help me out with?

1. Since Thursday (Aug. 27) I've lost 15 lbs, is that normal is that ok? I mean loosing weight that quick cant be right.

2. What do I do when I experience massive hunger? Last night I was going mentally crazy because my stomach was full but my intestines where empty and crying out for food and the broth was not subdoing the hunger pains it was giving me. What can I do?

3. Should I take my bandages off to make sure the scar tissue is healing correctly or wait til thursday doc visit?

Does anyone else have any advise?

Amy, though Dr Sal said he was going to give me his number I think he forgot due to the fact I was the last person he operated on, when I woke up everyone was gone but me lol, and the nurses wanted me to wake up quickly so they could go home. Anyways is there anyway you can share that nuber with me? if so email it at castillo_ken@yahoo.com

Does any one else have difficulties with their adjustments? Dr. Salimitari says I'm a "tricky" fill, I've had problems with almost every fill I've had. The average person that could tolerate 2-3cc fill on the first fill, I could only do 1.8cc.the 2nd fill was done by Dr. T, and that was a nightmare, he put 1cc and didn't care how easily I could drink, I threw up for 1 solid month. Several times after a fill I have to go back to have some taken out, or I've become so dehydrated I'm on IV fluids. I just had another fill 1 week ago today, I did good for the first 2 days, then when I returned to my regular diet, problems began again. I now have lost 11 lbs. in 1 week, I'm getting very dehydrated again. I'm hoping I'm not the only one that has these problems. I'm getting very frustrated, I'm beginning to wonder if this was all worth it, I am 8 months post-op, I've lost 64 lbs, but it hasn't been any easier than any other diet I've done. I'm considered just stopping this whole process, I would love to hear from you if you also have these problems.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
