Lose Over 100 lbs.

Recommended Posts

My surgery is scheduled for 9/23 and I can't wait. I have thought about this for a long time and I am at peace with the decision. Don't know how else to say this but "it feels like I am doing the right thing deep down in my belly". Hope you know what I mean. Anyway, is there anyone out there that has lost over 100 pounds or more. It seems like 100 pounds is something to really strive for. I need to lose more than that. Am I being unrealistic. The doctor said most people lose a percentage of the weight they should lose but not all of it. The numbers don't really matter to me. I just know what I want to look like and I know what I weighed when I looked like that. Frankly, I just want to look normal. Not skinny and not fat. Thanks.

Jetsy, I think that you have the right idea. I too have around 100 pounds to loose, maybe a little less depending on how I feel when I get to where I want to be!!! You're right, don't go by a number. Go by how you feel, and what your energy level is and how great those new small size clothes are fitting!!! :rolleyes2:

You ARE doing the right thing. When I began I had 100lbs to lose too. I hurt so bad from being overweight that I couldn't even stand to wait 2 more nights for a New Years eve bash before starting my pre-op diet. Now--I'm thrilled to say I only have about 46 more lbs to go --and I feel like a new women. I now know that I would never have lost this weight without the band. And I also now know that I WILL lose the 100lbs (and that is actually below a 25.0 BMI). I WILL be at goal weight --- and stay there---for the first time in 30 years. Make SURE you do everything your MD tells you to do. If you do that --- You WILL do it too! I wish you the very best.

Ironically, I reached the 100lb mark just yesterday in about 5.5 months. Feeling good will become as addictive as gorging on food...trust me! There will little things that your weight as allowed you to become extremely accustom to that you don't realize will be affected. Example: chairs fit better, you'll move your driver's seat closer to the steering wheel, you'll look and feel taller! If you'll allow yourself to be truely open to the concept that you're not meant to be overweight, you'll suddenly realize that your body wants to be healthy.

Be open to the thought that certain days or weeks you won't lose weight but don't let it deter you from your goal of being healthier. Ask yourself this question:

I ate a healthy Breakfast, lunch and dinner while spending 30 minutes walking but I didn't lose a pound...is this a better day than if I overate badly, never left the couch and didn't gain a pound. If you can truely see how much better the first scenerio is than the second scenerio then you'll have great success.

I am getting so excited and a little bit scared. I have been reading and talking to all of you for the last seven months. I am now at my last doctors appointment in which I only lost 5 lbs. I will be having my cardiac testing next Friday and then my surgeon appointment where they will schedule my surgery if my insurance approves. Pray they will. My birthday is October 15th and I will be 56 years old. They are telling me that it could be the first or second week of October. What a wonderful Birthday present that would be. The beginning of my new life being healthy. I pray I can do this and everything will go right for me. Congratulations on all of your losses. I can't wait to be where you are now.

Cheryl :rolleyes2:

There's tons of people around here who have done it.

I lost just on 100lb and that was 120% of my excess weight. I credit my success to being a regular runner.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
