Yeah I thought I have done all of the testing but they called me today to set up an appointment to do a sleep apnea test Dec. 3! Now I have to wait another month. Man that sux! Lol. I guess after that test they are going to send everything to tricare and we will see what happens. Congrats on your weightloss! Good job!

Yay Maggie! I weighed myself again this morning on the Wii Fit and I've lost another 2.1 lbs. I should get my husband to weigh himself, too, to see if he has lost any weight. He's been following the diet along with me (he's going for training in a couple of weeks and he needed to lose a few).

I am going to try to not weigh again until Tuesday. It is exciting watching it go down more than one pound at a time. Maggies:shades_smile:

Hi y'all,

I got reweighed the other day and surgeon's scale says I'm 226 and 5'2" tall so I am pretty sure that qualifies me for the surgery as far as weight is concerned. They will be filing with Tricare next week after my nutrtion class. I just wanted to ask y'all to keep your fingers crossed for me.

Thanks,

That puts you in the middle of the Metlife chart. You should be approved. Just make sure you get everything turned in together. Good luck!

Quite today, I guess everybody is watching the election results.

JWRN, That would be great to be at 17 post op next week. It certainly changes how you feel getting on the scale. I used to dread it, but did it everyday. Makes no since. Now I am going to do it once a week and it should be going down. Maggies:shades_smile:

Anyone do a sleep apnea test? Does that test determine if you get the surgery or not? They said I have to do the test first before they send everything to tricare.

Sabrina, I had to do the sleep apnea test and its a good thing I did, because that is what got me approved. I didn't even know I had it, I knew I would wake up several times at nite, but didn't know why. It doesn't determine if you will get approved or not, but if you have it and are over 100lbs overweight you should be approved. And if you don't have it, you could still be approved if you have one of the other health problems listed by Tricare. Good luck on your approval. Maggies:shades_smile:

Maggies it's so good to see you doing so well after surgery! I'm in the preop diet phase (and happy to be there after all of the insurance hassles I went through!) & doing well. My surgery is on the 19th (2 weeks from today!!!). It must feel wonderful to be in losing mode!! (And I also had to have a sleep test and wondered why--I didn't have sleep apnea, right? Wrong!! And I'm sure that was one of the deciding factors that finally got me approved....) Keep motivating us with your progress!

Hows everybody doing. Still losing those pounds that have been keeping us from having the life we want????Post of appt. tomorrow. I'm going to find out how much fill was put in at time of placement. I was happy to hear that they did that. I still don't feel hungry at all, so that is a great thing.

My post op appt isn't for a week yet- I'm jealous. I've got to work out the schematics of my first fill. My husband is going to school in GA for almost 3 months, so my son and I are going to stay with my parents in FL (it's a lot closer to visit from FL than it is from MD). We'll be leaving at the end of this month and my first fill should be mid-Dec, right before c'mas. BAH.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
