Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Recommended Posts

You're 254 or 154?

I would bet 254...could be a typo or just one of those things like when we talk about gas prices now and say $2.99 instead of $3.99 because we aren't used to talking about gas prices being so high!

I was just thinking the other day that I don't FEEL 264 on the inside...I still feel like the active, athletic person I once was and am frustrated when my body won't cooperate!

Great to hear back from the "banded ones"! Wishing you well!

I was banded yesterday morning. I am getiing around good and no vomiting. I did have problems urinated after surgery, but they said thats common. Came home about 5 hours after surgery. My insurance doesn't cover the pain meds so I am in pain, but its tolerable. My mouth is staying real dry. All of this will be worth it in a few weeks I know. All in all, not too bad. Good luck to everyone else.

:wink2: After all the testing and waiting and testing and questions it finally is going to happen. I am a bit nervous but at the same time very happy.

I have bcbs, but hospital warned me that a lot of insurances doesn't pay for celebrex. The pain is a lot better than last night. Not too bad now. I am glad to have it over and can't wait to start reaping the rewards of all my hard work. Good luck everyone.

Insurances are all so very different; I was self-pay and 4 hrs from home - yet, my insurance paid for pain meds., percoset ($10. co-pay). So far, I've only taken one before my 4 hr ride home today. Really helped. I think I might take another before bed tonight. However, the pain is really tolerable and liquid tylenol works well.

Hi everybody,

Had my surgery Tues and came home yesterday. Things went well. I did have a large hiatal hernia that was repaired. I just came in from walking outside for a bit. No vomiting thank goodness. Had a little nausea this morning after I tried a little protien and skim milk combo. That will be my hardest thing to deal with. I just hate the taste of the Protein Powder. I go back to work on the 20th.

I hope all of my fellow banders that have had their surgery are doing well. I think about you all the time.

Take care for now.

BTW: Have you tried to mix your Protein powder drink with ice and a blender? Sometimes that helps. Even drop a sf popsicle in with it while it blends.

Thus far, I've been drinking ready made, but I've drank powders in the past. Good Luck.

I'm scheduled for surgery on October 22. Reality is setting in.

Oddly, I'm not as worried about the after stuff as I am about getting through the pre-op diet. I'm counting on not wanting to eat as much during the first few weeks post-op.

I love hearing from all of you on this!

Sandielaw -- I feel the same way. I'm on day 4 of my 7-day pre-op diet, and I'm actually looking forward to broth! Anything else seems like it has got to be better than being limited to only Slim Fast for 7 days.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
