Hello Fellow October Bandsters.

I just got an approval from my health insurance on September 16th. My surgery date is October 3rd. What kind of pre-op diets are you guys following? I start mine on September 19th, but I am not sure of the details yet.

Excited in Georgia!

Congrads :) to all the October Bandsters. As far as myself i'll be on a 2week supply of Optifast( from the Dr.Office ) and Clear Liquids prior to surgery. I Clearly see how each case is different

Hi everybody! I just got my date for surgery! October 29th! I'm excited and nervous at the same time! I don't go in for my nutrition class until the 14th, so I'm not sure what kind of pre-op diet I have.... will have to check into that. Just wanted to say hi, it's been a long time since I've been here, but will be here a lot more now!

My preop diet consist of 2 Protein Shakes and a no carb meal for dinner.. my Protein Shake of choice is the Low carb chocolate slim fast. It gives you the Protein you need and it gives me the chocolate fill I need ha ha.. Anyways my diet technically starts tomorrow, but I have been on it for about a week because my hubby is a week ahead of me so I was trying to be supportive during his week. I avoided as much carbs as possible in front of him.. Best of luck to every one :)

I am very excited!!! I drink a Slim Fast Low Carb chocolate shake every morning anyway. It helps with my IBS (I don't know how, but it does!). So luckily I like them and actually look forward to drinking it in the mornings. I guess I'll have to figure out what I'll be eating/drinking after surgery so I can be prepared for what to get. I can't believe it's only next month! I set my date yesterday and am so excited!!! :crying:

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
