Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Recommended Posts

I am taking the challenge to lose ten pounds by October 31. My bandiversary is October 7th. Can anyone explain to me how to put a picture and a weight ticker on this thread? I am not too good on the computer. My starting weight was 263 lbs. My weight on my surgery date was 256 lbs. My current weight is 197 lbs. I am 5' 10" tall.

Sure. Touch on one of our tickers. That will take you to a web site and you can put all the information in. Make sure to put in a pin number so you don't have to copy and paste every time you want to update your weight. When you have your ticker made up (play around a bit. It is fun) then on this page go up to the top.

See the shortcut to "Quicklinks"? It is right under the welcome message. Touch on that and then select "Edit Signature" from the drop down menu. Paste the correct code you got for your ticker from the other page and add whatever else you would like in the box provided. You can preview and save. When you save then everytime you post your signature will automatically post on the bottom of your message. When you want to update your weight just touch on your ticker in your signature, put in your current weight and save. Your ticker on your signature will then be updated too.

Let me know if you need more help. It takes a while to figure it all out.

I still can't seem to get the ticker to appear on this thread. I really tried hard!

Work on figuring out how to put something in your signature. Have you gotten to the "Edit Signature"? It is retroactive, so once you put something there you will see it on your other posts.

My goal is 8 lbs. Is the due date for the challenge Oct 31?

I am wondering if any of you would like to start a challenge.

We are only one month away from October! OMG I can't even believe that! I was banded at the end of the month, but it is still coming up soon. Anyone interested in a Halloween Challenge? We could weigh in every Saturday Morning and I'll keep track and post it here.

Who is in? I really need to get on track and get the sweets out of my system.

If you are interested Weigh yourself. Let me know that you want your name added to the Challenge List. This will be an eight week challenge and so my goal will be 16 lbs.

Just to let the new "Smashing Pumkins" know. There should be a thread for October 2009 if you search for it but you are welcome to join us if you would like.

Is it too late to join? I haven't posted in forever! I am glad everyone seems to be working at it. I seem to be stuck. Just got my second fill about 3 weeks ago - am down a little more but still staying around the same!

OK Julie Ann - count me in for 8 pounds. I'm a slow loser but I'm getting a fill this Thursday. I don't think I've lost a pound since I was there 6 weeks ago. But my last fill wa March 12 so I'm due! I still, sometimes, get stuck at the beginning of a meal - but once I PB it goes away and I can eat. I know PB'ing isn't good and I'm afraid I will stretch my band. Does anyone else do this? Anyway, if I make my goal, I'll be in the 180's by October 31st (189 - but what the heck! LOL). I love all the Smashing Pumpkins.

Well my sweet tooth has caught up with me! I have had my first significant gain in the past week. I did it to myself.:)

I'm afraid that I will have to record a gain for my first week in the challenge. Well yesterday was better and I will take it one day at a time. Maybe I can get it back off by Saturday and break even this week.

I've been reading the boards for a while and haven't ever posted but here I am. I've been told that I should be able to have my surgery October 1st but I will probably see if I can have it the next week due to work. I just need to get cleared by my cardiologist tomorrow then I'm finally finished. I'm self-pay but I have a hiatal hernia that needs to be repaired so I'm hoping that will help pay for some of the overnight hospital visit. I use the car payment idea too. I'll have more use out of this than a car.

I will admit that for the past month I feel like I've been doing the "Farewell to food Tour" I have hit all my favorite restaurants and I know I've gained weight. I've never eaten like this my entire life. I'm the heaviest I've ever been so now that I know my surgery and that pre-op diet is around the bend, I'm ready to buckle down. I actually miss eating healthy. I'm like the fattest "healthy' eater I know. I just keep thinking that the more weight I take off without the band, the less I will need to take off with it.

Good luck to everyone. :blushing:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
