Okay I need some help from anyone currently doing Optifast or have already gone through it. Today was my first day (13 to go) and all I can say is blah! I put ice in the chocolate, then three strawberries in the vanilla (couldn't even taste the berries), then I put a tablespoon of Decaf instant coffee in the chocolate and it was "tolerable". Any ideas how to make it a little more flavourful? I'm also wondering is it normal to be peeing ALL the time? I've gone about 8 times already! The only way I'm keeping myself out of the kitchen is by chewing a piece of gum, is this okay during the pre-op? I know that gum is a no-no after banding but would one piece a day hurt during the pre-op period? Any advice would be much appreciated :)

I added a little almond extract (1/4 teaspoon) to the chocolate and a little lemon extract to the vanilla. I didn't like my shakes cold or with ice. Just used about 5 ozs of Water and got 'em down! It gets better about the 4th day, I promise. Save your last shake for bedtime and you'll sleep better!

I added bananas, strawberries, and raspberries to both the chocolate and vanilla and it was pretty tasty

I would add ice and a packet of sweet and low and throw them in the blender.. I really like the chocolate that way.. the vanilla i did the above and added a little vanilla extract.. i hated the strawberry.. just hang in there!!! I lost 20 pounds the two weeks before my surgery doing the optifast.. you can do it!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
