It is great news that it can be done! :) I can not wait to get to that point! I was banded on 11/6/08 and have lost 15 pounds.

Keep up the good work!

It is so awesome to see your success! I have not told anyone how much weight I have lost....I am ashamed of how much I weighed, although I thank God for the success I'm having with the band. I am 5'4" and weighed 367 at my highest before the pre-op diet in May 2008. I am now at 238. I want to be under 200 by Easter, if possible and down to 140 by next year at this time. Does anyone else struggle with people insisting on knowing a "number" of how many pounds they've lost? Even people who don't know me well. Am I the only person who doesn't want the world to know their pre-band weight? (of course...except you all...my anonymous, cyber friends! LOL!)

DallasDi,

I am 5'3" and started at 332 lbs. I have lost so much weight so many times I decided this time it's all going to be private. When people notice my weight loss I thank them but I do not offer up numbers or even the fact that I have been banded. For me this journey is all about maintaining a weight loss. I don't think it's unusual to feel self conscious about weighing >300lbs. Good luck with your goals and stay in touch. I am also hoping to be of a normal weight next year (from my mouth to God's ear) and it's nice to have someone to chat with who is in the same situation!

job well done all. if it makes you feel any better when i started out i weighted 432lbs and im 5'3. im down 43lbs as of last wk. i lost it in 2.5months on my own. i was just banded 12-15-08 and hopin to loose more. can anyone tell me how or did they have a problem getting the liquid in. yesterday i only drank 5ozs of liquid and 3 popsickles. today a little better. also the first wk what did everyone loose. any ways dont be ashamed as you are and have corrected the problem. plus its not anyones business if you dont feel like telling them. im proud of you for the decision to get the band and the weightloss and getting your health back. you rock:thumbup:

Here we go again!! Another 1.8 lbs gone forever!! Thanks Looosssiiieee!!! (band name). Total loss now is 79.2!!!

China -

Can't speak for everyone - just myself....but liquid wasn't a problem once I learned I couldn't "gulp" like I had done in the past.....more sipping, especially at first. I also learned that I can drink hot liquid much easier....and now drink quite a bit of coffee. Just my personal experience.

As for calories....for the first six or eight months - I probably only had 500 to 700 calories per day. I am doing more than that now - but some days still are down in that area....not trying to starve myself...just not hungry.

BUT....the last few days have been disasterous....still haven't ate big quantities as I can't do that (thank the man upstairs), but have been eating chocolate and pastries and junk food :mad2:

It is over for another week....I will let myself cheat New Years eve and New Years day - then back to the good me again and even throw in a little exercise maybe. :tongue2:

I hope to be below that 300 pound mark by May 1 - 2009....that is a goal I just set for myself in fron of you all...that gives me just over five months to lose 40ish pounds....and then I will be on the downhill slide.

Best of continued luck to all of you all.....hope each and everyone of you had a great Christmas!

I am 5'3" and started this journey at 350 lbs. I now weigh 287. I know the day I stepped on the scale and saw 299 was one of the happiest of my life. I just make a goal of 10 lbs. at a time. I already met so many goals so it is extremely motivating for me to do it that way. I do have an ultimate goal weight in mind but it is not my major focus. So, for now... my next goal is to reach 279 and as of now I'm only 8 lbs. away! 200 lbs to lose is a a lot of weight but WE CAN DO IT! Hang in there everyone.. take one pound at a time and one day at a time. :tt2:

I started at 381 3 months ago and now I'm 341. I'd like to be at 299 on my 40'th birthday but since it's only 40 days away it's probably not going to happen so I'm just looking for

< 300 ASAP.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
