Hey everybody! Mydate is 8-21-08 and I was wondering.....

Recommended Posts

the surgery is on a Thursday and I took Friday, Sat. Sun., Mon and Tue off from work. Do you think I will feel better by then? How long until you can drive? Do you need to put medicine on those cuts on your belly? I am sooo thankful that insurance approved me (I worked my tail off to get all of that together), and I have a family that supports me......I will start the liquid diet tomorrow. Thank you everybody for the help that you offer me and each other. Have a good one!

I had surgery on Wednesday and drove myself to work the following Monday (desk job). I was a little tired but it was fine. Different doctors use different closure methods on incisions so he will tell you if you need to do anything to yours. Mine were closed with durabond (like super glue) and I did nothing to them, it just finally wore off.

Good luck! You'll love it, this is great!

You'll probably be able to drive....my Dr. said not to drive for 5 days. You'll probably also be feeling better, the only thing is that you might be tired. I'm a side and tummy sleeper and wasn't able to do that until night 10 post-op. That's when I was able to finally get a good nights sleep again. Prior to that, I was tired because I hardly got any sleep. I know everybody's different and maybe you'll be able to sleep fine, but if not, just know it won't last forever. Good luck with your surgery and the recovery!

I had surgery on Thursday afternoon and went to work on Tuesday Morning to a desk job. I felt fine, just a little tired. Stopped taking my pain meds on Saturday after surgery (they made me tired). Driving was no problem 2 days after surgery. You should be fine! Best wishes to you-let us know how it went!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
